Living in Pattaya on 186000 a month

My retirement is coming soon and I want to know if 186,000 baht a month is enough for rent, ladies (every day) and some booze in bars?  One of my friends says his 3 children at rugby school costs more than that.

 

The house I want to rent is 70,000 a month. (At siam royal view)

I don't know where you are from but that's not a good income where I live. Hardly anything to boast about. If I had a family I would be stuffed.

Years ago a friend of mine did an experiment on here.  He wrote his true income anonymously and his budget. I think it was around 800,000 a month.  He was called a troll and swiftly banned. 

 

This is why people don't post their income if its reasonable.

186k a month is not a huge amount but one should live comfortable in Pattaya on it but obviously depends if children are involved.

 

OP mentions 70k a month at Siam Royal View.... that entry level 2 bed house in that estate.

I have friends with 86,000 a month car payments in Pattaya.  People think 186k a month is a lot but they don't see these rich guys.

I looked at rugby school and regents. Monthly rugby is around 60k a month when divided across 12 months for a younger child.  Regents is 45k a month.  These schools are pretty full.

Not nearly enough.  I spend about 200K per week.  I also own my own house and car and budget my expenses with the ladies getting a lady off the esplanade every other day.

 

You might be able to scrap by on 180K per month.  But it will take a lot of discipline and you wil find yourself with ladies from the bottom of the barrel.

A friend has 4 children at Regents.

 

His income is north of 750k a month.

Why are you looking at and including school costing when you say you have no family?

True, it is not that crazy, plenty who do even up to 500K a month, or more.

If you wanna do a girl daily and then also some drinks in the bars left and right, that easily can be 3-5K daily already. If you would do strictly the short time version girls, and perhaps via dating sites instead of bars, you could get it at 1-1.5K per time. 

So basically to keep things actually fun, I would already forget about renting for so much money, that is an absolute waste with that budget. If you would rent for max 30-40K including utilities, your plan is realistic, and still leaves room for some holidays and stuff too.

 

If you gonna live that lifestyle, the cheaper you rent is actually the better, there is not much benefit to more than 20-30K a month, and girls don't care either, they just wanna get paid + you are a lot outside.

I give thanks every single day of my life that I chose not to go the route of parenthood. When I read something like this, it makes me extra thankful. Such nonsense. Cannot even imagine having to dish out that kind of money here. That is London, or Chicago money.

I though people with 700/800 k Baht a month (>20000 USD) would live in Miami, Cote d'Azur or wherever except Pattaya.

The poorer ones with half that money maybe in Ko Samui

No way is that enough money. You won't be able to live here on less than 650k per month. Hope you haven't booked your flights yet.

Some of them I know are are senior officers of multinational companies that have a local operation. why would they not live here ?
