Anyone know a pattaya based locksmith who could open a simple lock box ? It the same type as found in hotels, keypad and ring key.

It's battery has long since died so it will need a ring based skeleton key. Cheers

The big key guy ( link above ) said that would open the safe and replace the lock for 1200. Sounds good. But they seem to be open on week days.

Bash it hard on the top while pulling the door. Electronic lock is gravity based and can be opened easily. Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang and it's open.

Plenty of how to videos on YouTube.

True this. Works every time.

It's not my box, came with a rented room, so don't want to use a hammer. Yes I watched the video and tried bouncing it. But not everything on YouTube works.

If I replace the batteries in mine, I can open it using the keypad!

so how can it be that easy to open ....   is this process only effective when the keypad battery is dead flat as makes no sense if you can do that in normal operation.

Most safes aren't left sitting on the bed, Thieves would just pick them up and put them under their arm and walk off to open at leisure, .

Nope, the locking bolt is held in place by gravity and friction. An electromagnet pulls it up to open. You're just bouncing the locking bolt up out of the lock without the help of the electromagnet.

Works if the lockbox is bolted to a wall, just need to bash it on the top a few times.

If you still havent gotten it open yet, you can use a ballpoint pen with a soft plastic tube like in the video below.

I helped a friend open the same kind of lockbox using the soft plastic ballpen tube.

Basically, jam the tube into the round lock where the key would go and twist, while at the same time turning the handle to open.

Good luck!
