It is quite obvious from the title of the post.

  • Every phone since the nineties has about every language that exist in the world, unless it is a stupid phone.   And I wouldn't be too proud to post pictures if i owned such a slum.

Well, I guess I am getting old. Bought a new phone today it only displays the English Pound symbol but not the dollar symbol I need for some of my passwords. Setting up the language it only has 1 setting and that is English I am OK with that, but it is missing the $ sign and only have the pound symbol. No American or Australin English, so what to do?

Is there no box for the phone with a model number or anything like that?

It’s like me asking you to send a new part for my car but not telling you anything about the car at all. You need to give some details of the actual phone.

Your keyboard might not look exactly the same as the above. That’s just an example of how to get the $ key to show.

As said, tell people what the model is. Go into SETTINGS>ABOUT

SETTINGS>SYSTEM>ABOUT

SETTINGS>GENERAL>ABOUT
etc etc

$ and € etc are either a couple clicks away—‘123’ then ’#+=‘ on iPhone—for example (though you likely have an android phone), or you may have to switch keyboards.

Though it often doesn’t appear so, people have been trying to help.

Indeed...  There are plenty of people attempting to help - and then we have one particular poster, who has added his usual toxic element to the thread, just as he does on nearly every thread he posts.
