Chonburi — A middle-aged woman was seriously injured when her motorbike was struck by a sedan driven by an alleged drunk driver on December 10th.

The incident unfolded at 11:30 PM at a curve in front of the Million Years Stone Park & Pattaya Crocodile Farm in the Nong Pla Lai sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Chonburi police and the rescue teams rushed to the scene upon notification.

There, 57-year-old Thai woman Chanthip Sriwilai was found in serious condition in the undergrowth beside the road. The woman was unresponsive and the rescue team attempted to resuscitate her by using a defibrillator before rushing her to the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

From the link:

Chonburi police questioned an involved driver, Chatchawan Thiamkan, 51, and learned that the Thai man was reportedly intoxicated.

Chatchawan reportedly confessed to drinking alcohol at a party before getting behind the wheel of his sedan. He said that he was driving home with his friend when he suddenly crashed into Chanthip. The man admitted he did not know how he crashed into her.
