Episode 6 of Season 3 of The Young Royals which is the FINALE of the entire series is out today.

Without any spoilers, I will call it an emotionally satisfying conclusion.

Last night I watched the first couple of episodes of season 1 of Masters of the Air. It's already been mentioned a couple of times in this forum. So far, it's entertaining and enjoyable IHMO. I got it from TGx.  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2640044/

That's about the only interesting eps.  3 ish or so, while flying missions, getting shot up, then goes downhill from there.  Further eps I found myself fast forwarding, then gave up around 6th eps.  Not sure how it kept the high rating after mid way through.

I am an something of an amateur  WW2 historian but found the story disjointed and boring, the flying scenes are authentic and some of the best flying WW2  CGI I have ever seen.

I found the the POW episodes from Stalag Luft three based on my previous research interesting and authentic, I think the high rating on IMDB is because people are acknowledging the detail and work that obviously went into making it, as entertainment I would rate it around 6 or maybe 6.5

I have visited sites of many of the USAF and RAF bases in East Anglia, very little now remains of most of them, most having been tuned into farmers fields, many do however have a plaque marking the spot.

Patria

Patria tells the story of two families divided by the violent conflict of the separatist terrorism of ETA over the Spanish Basque Country. After 3 decades of murder, terrorism, political fanaticism, will the community be able to forgive?

Good. Well worth a watch. Almost up to the original in quality. Some good music I didn't recognize, definitely not in Healey's class though.

Worth watching for the fight scenes only, the rest of the movie is just filler. Credit to Connor though, thought he played the psycho role pretty well.

I started watching it the other week, got as far as the kid going back to find him on the ground.

You mentioned something about the ending.

I liked it and would recommend it but it is slow and most of it is talking. There are also a lot of subtexts to the narrative -- she's German, the husband's French, she uses English as her main language, the boy suffers from impaired sight due to an accident, all sorts of nuances. Some of the reviews criticize it as boring but I didn't find it that way. And I thought the ending was realistic.

Sticking with Shogun, I like it, but hardly a clue what's going on. The 4th episode really bringing it together

in the end, I think it's going to be a classic series

You do need some background in Japanese history to understand what's going on. You might want to skim the Wilkepedia entry on the Sengoku period in Japan.

With all of the talk about the new "Dune" movie, I decided to watch the original 1984 version again and I found it enjoyable although the "special effects" were far from it, however the imagination of the producer and set designers when portraying life and settings in certain planets and other aspects of the movie, was intriguingly brilliant!

PS. I also fell in love, all over again, with Sean Young.

When I need a break from a long series, such as "The Gentlemen", I flick on to the BBC iPlayer and watch some of the old Morecambe and Wise shows, some of which still make me laugh – – they were simply brilliant in my opinion.
