I watched a movie last night which I thought I might have seen before, but in retrospect I don't think I had (don't forget I've got memory problems after my accident!).

The movie was a Western, called "Hostiles" and starred Rosamund Pike and Christian Bale and it made for a good evening's entertainment and was enjoyable.

I  did see it some time ago, but it might be worth another watch.

Because you’re a fan of Red Dwarf, Every time I see you posting, reminds me of a Kiwi friend of mine who was a Film goof buff---he would always write to IMDB etc. about how this guy had the watch on his left hand but was on his right when he walked back in the room---ete  etc ..  He was Jewish so he thought Space balls was hilarious because Mel Brooks (also Jewish) replaces the words---"May the force be with” you to “May the Schwartz  be with you” –Schwartz is (was) Jewish for the “N”  word—of course now google have soften it down to explain it just means a very Dark skinned or black person.

He made up a list for a TV movie magazine once with 15 words that Writers/Directors had added in just to F-*K –with the public I guess---they wouldn’t print it.   Anyway, I saw it- & Red Dwarf was one, with Listers constant- Smeging hell--Smeg this and Smeg that,  about every third sentence….smeg is an abbreviation for smegma—doctors especially just use Smeg .

Anyway it was great Series….

What is Smegma?     https://www.webmd.com/sex/what-is-smegma

Schwartz is German for "black".

It is.

Yiddish shvartze is now a slur though.

But in the context of native Yiddish speakers speaking among themselves שוואַרץ is neutral as black.

A grandfather of mine native Yiddish speaker worked with black people and used the S word. He wasn't Martin Luther King but the tone and context that he used with the word was kind of ambiguous, like in between neutral and slur. Meanings of words change over time.

Mel Brooks is funny and that joke was funny. Often with comedy it works to be edgy. A comedian today wouldn't go there of course.

Early releases of landman s01e08 are not good. Make sure you get a repack.

My copy of 8 did not play, DL again sill did not work, finally got one that is good but sadly Its turned into a romantic soap and on going arguments with ex wife, what started as a thriller has turned into filler.....

Tried all the combination, .to & so on, but lots of spam dominated the site.

Try fmovies.vg via Brave.com browser to avoid spam.

Currently watching series 5 after a month of bingeing on it. Still one of the best series around

I don't recall anyone talking about The Sticky on this thread. I finished watching season 1 yesterday and thought it was OK. It did end on a bit of a cliff hanger and it is unclear if there will be a second season.

Thanks, she's always entertaining to watch, whether playing a silly or serious character.  Nice to see her in a leading role 👍

Lincoln Lawyer, season 2, is quite good in my opinion. I was a little ambivalent about season 1 but season 2 has an interesting plot, the actors are much more comfortable in their roles, and the romance between Mickey Haller and a prosecutor in the DA's office is one of the few interracial relationships I've seen that is natural and convincing. Very American show though.
