Popular Post webfact
Starbucks, one of Thailand’s most popular coffee chains, announced that the prices of its beverages will be increased by 5 baht at all of its stores across the country from today. One cup of coffee from Starbucks is now more expensive than Thailand’s national minimum wage. The corporation says the reason for the price hike is due to the current economic situation, which, according to an official Starbucks statement, has caused the cost of operation and management to increase its prices. Starbucks Thailand apologised for the inconvenience to all brand loyalists, stating that the company had tried to maintain the price to avoid impacting customers. The price increase will apply to beverage items only. Other products, including desserts, coffee beans, ready-to-order soft drinks and drinkware, as well as add-on toppings such as syrups and whipped cream, will be offered at the same prices. Drink prices for orders placed through online platforms will also increase. by Petch Petpailin Photo via Facebook/ Starbucks Thailand Full story: The Thaiger 2024-01-05 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post KhunLA
Another false headline, as looking at menu, only one coffee comes close to minimum wage. The rest all in the <150 baht, and that is a rather large cup of coffee, 2-3X the size of some other shops. So not even silly priced ... aside from the terrible flavor. The standard Americano coffee by definition always has 2 espressos filled up with water. If you fill in more water you can use a larger cup. I personally avoid Starbucks because of its watery and weak coffee for Americano. Edited January 5 by msbkk 3 1 1

Popular Post retarius
I dislike Starbucks coffee. I go when we travel as it is the same everywhere and the food is reasonably priced. I find Starbucks coffee really weak and insipid, but that's a personal opinion. I always have to get an extra shot costing 50 baht to even get a coffee taste. Amazon's coffee is much better. 2 4

eyeman
Come on give them some credit, you're paying for -2celsius temperature, there not many places in Thailand it gets that low. 9 minutes ago, retarius said: I dislike Starbucks coffee. Agree, sent americano back a few times as just tasted like hot water, replacements never a problem, but not much different either..

Other coffee drinkers who's opinion I respect, concur, and also sampled TH's StarCrap, and agree, not worth the price of admission. Their muffins on the other hand were damn tasty, if fresh. That's about the limit of my experiences with SC. Edited January 5 by KhunLA

My coffee tastes fine. Last time I used a Starbucks I did like the coffee, and the comfy seat, but can't remember what I paid as I they would not take cash and I used a CC. 1 1

I can't find fault with it. Starbucks is popular with Koreans, wannabe rich showoffs and those that think brands and high prices equal better quality. Probably get a new IPhone each year and have no idea what functions they have/have not. Long may it continue as it keeps them out of the queues in Amazon. 1

TBH, I'd rather just drink the Hazelnut flavored instant for 20 ish baht that's offered at 7-11. Inthanon at Bangchak petrol/CS is wee bit better, but not something I'd actually recommend to a coffee drinker. 1 2

A foreigner shows up with his social security and tries to impress the lowest common denominator. Hey, I'm in Thailand! look at me! I so rich/successful. 1 1

Muppets, The key word is sitting... Generally, when I'm in a Starbucks, I'm renting a nice place to sit for awhile, and they throw in a coffee. Sometimes, I rent a cheaper seat and they just throw in a water. I could get the water cheaper at 7/11 but they don't have nice seats. 1 1

Amazon coffee is total junk. Real garbage. Their other non coffee products are made with low quality stuff that would be banned in any civilized country. I trust starbucks more than Amazon and to compare it is just hilarious. 2 2 1 1
freeworld
There are 474 starbucks outlets in Thailand, one of the top 10 in the world. Lots of money to be made by them. Their 5 baht increase will add billions to their bottom line. Edited January 5 by freeworld 1
freeworld
Gave up drinking starbucks coffee's about 10 years ago. Find smaller brands much better and equally as good. The problem with starbucks one had to tell them everytime to not dilute their cups of coffee with milk. Find Amazon, Ithanin, Leaf Cafe and Coffman coffee superior to starbucks and these dont need to be told everytime to put less milk in their coffees. Also the prices are far cheaper averaging 50 to 60 baht compared to starbucks 150 baht. Edited January 5 by freeworld
impulse
It'll be interesting to see if the increase sticks (and whether competitors follow suit). Wouldn't be the first company that raised prices to increase per unit profit, only to find out they lost so much volume that they had to reverse themselves. Popular Post EVENKEEL
I'm always amazed at how hard working folks spend their money on crap. Especially the wages Thais work for. All my years in US punching a time clock, I brought food and coffee from home, hardly ever, ever did I eat out. So, here in Thailand a guy making 500 baht a day spends 50 baht on lunch, that's 10%, to me that's stupid. The mentality of living life day to day is why so many Thais have nothing when they're old. Much the same as US I want to add. Which is why it boggles my mind when a place like Starbucks is so popular. 2 4 1
