From the Link: Late December last year, 117 volunteer guards were certified to assist in the maintenance of law and order at entertainment venues on Bangla Road after the 4am curfew came into effect. This was part of the Strong Tourism Community (STC) project where volunteer guards are trained and employed, initiated by Tourist Police Commander Lieutenant General Saksira Phueakam. Training included assisting and maintaining tourist safety, as well as first aid knowledge and CPR. Seems to be as pro-active as the police. Just there for the clean-up operation. 4 1

Also my brother is now a Sarf Ifrikin! Unfortunately it seems that a lot of Brits are incapable of handling booze without coming over all alpha and agressive and so I can understand how this sort of thing can happen. I’ve met the King of China And a working Yorkshire miner But I’ve never met a nice South African …… 😆 ......... I would have thought the incident involving the THAI police Officer and the Thai border guard having a shootout at a Thai restaurant over the affections of a Thai waitress working there, which resulted in one being shot in the leg and the other being shot in the head would have been more newsworthy. 1

sikishrory
Should chuck a boxing ring on bangla. Walking streets got one. Well it did about 8 yrs ago last time i went. Then untrained drunk tourists could all smash eachother in a more respectable manner 1

Baricello
Everyone obviously don't realize, the term "South African" refers to a descendant of a "Brit Immigrant" the other Caucasians are "Afrikaaners " of Dutch descent, re the Boer War! 1 1
