American wanted for sharing explicit videos and abusing Thai women

Three Thai women reached out to the Pavena Foundation for Children and Women after a perverted American man with anger issues they connected with on a dating app shared explicit pornographic videos, blackmailed, physically assaulted them and stole their valuables.

Foundation founder Paveena Hongsakul accompanied one of the three victims to the Royal Thai Police (RTP) Sports Club to file a complaint against the American, identified as Tom, with RTP Deputy Commissioner Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn.

 

Paveena reported that the 33 year old American told the Thai women on the dating app that he was a former US soldier. He wanted to start a family with them and take them to the US. He chose Thai women with secure careers and good profiles.

After meeting the women, he would secretly record their sexual activities. If the women caught him and broke up with him, he would then physically abuse them, threaten them or steal their valuables. Tom allegedly shared the victims’ sex videos with their colleagues, friends and family, causing one of the victims to suffer from panic disorder.

So he shared the videos with their friends, colleagues, and family?  I guess these women gave him all the information how to contact these other people.  Very odd . 
And for the American bashers, including other western countries, on here.  Maybe they should look at themselves.  Because in reality they are in Thailand because they didn’t have much going for them in their own countries.  Both socially and economically inept.

A friend of mine runs a very successful website about Thailand, and refuses to allow any comments. His only feedback is via emails, some of which he publishes. It's very clear why, isn't it.

I have a very low threshold for idiots, and sadly this site appears to attract many. The number I've blocked has reached double figures, i think. Before social media we had no idea such people were out there, but now they've been exposed and there are so many that it's quite scary.

That is your opinion and, if you are in Thailand, could include yourself. If it doesn't, how is that you judge others to be inferior to your ignorant self? If you are not in Thailand, how are you aware of the demographics of expats who are here?

Looks like this guy needs to be brought before the Thai justice system where he can get a trial and then be fined and deported.  Most likely blacklisted for a very long time.  Hopefully the US authorities will pick up on this case and prosecute him for crimes committed overseas.

Hookers demand payment, don't they? Any evidence, any statement anywhere, that these victims were paid for sexual services? You clearly are not aware that what you describe is hardly unusual these days, and perhaps never was. We just didn't hear about it through social media.

Yes, you are right.

But does it ever happen to you that a friend tells you a story of someone with nationality X and you think to yourself: Sure, that is typical for X. Maybe you even told that to the friend you told the story.

 

And comments like that are normal on Asian Now, many of us enjoy them and laugh about them.

The difference is that mostly we do this in the Pub in this forum and not in the news section.

 

But all in all, does it really matter if some people in this forum, including me, sometimes bash people from specific nations?

Is anybody really offended? Does anybody think something like: Good that I know it was an American, now I will stay away from people from nation? I don't think it has any effect whatsoever.

Maybe some of us laugh and some of us think "another bashing" and in a second we forget about it.

I think he was a soldier, as there are so many American soldiers out there with PTSD, who have anger and violent issues and that is one part of the full story I believe.
