webfact
JUSTICE MINISTER THAWEE Sodsong said today (Jan.9) the Corrections Department will shortly give him official papers to justify an extended stay of de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict Thaksin Shinawatra outside of a prison. The justice minister told reporters at Government House that Corrections Department director-general Sahakarn Petnarin will hand him some time this week the official documents pertaining to Thaksin’s stay at Police Hospital beyond a 120-day period earlier provided by law without schedule for his being discharged at any time. Thawee said the submission of such documents from the chief of the agency handling Thaksin’s case has been delayed due to his consultations with Police Hospital doctors. The chief of the Corrections Department which is attached to the Ministry of Justice is the only authority to approve the extended stay of the de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict outside of Bangkok Remand Prison for a certain period of time, according to the justice minister. Popular Post ikke1959
The most fake newws of the year already.. Thaksin lived in Dubai and was healthy as he could go everywhere. Back in Thailand he is serious ill that he can't stay in prison, but in a luxury hospital... Justice in Thailand is far away and only within reach of the rich ...Which normal person stays in a hospital for more than 4 months, whatever treatment they give them except they are in coma or so 2

We've been told endlessly that medical record privacy prevents the release of any medical information, and without that, one cannot justify this preferential treatment. At this point, they just need to stumble, dissemble, and prevaricate until 22 Feb when the inmate will be released.

Distractions, to muddy the waters in the last month before a parole is issued.

He has no shame, sticking two fingers up at a system which repeatedly removed democratic governments with military coups of varying degrees of subtlety, and once each coup had established control over the " independent" judicial system had him (and his sister) "run out of town". It is recognised, why else do you think that his sentence was reduced to a token one year, and even that is not being enforced. It is recognised by this government, and the regime it supplanted (and which remains influential) that the vast majority of Thais either don't care or actively enjoy seeing those fingers displayed!
