I think it's safer. Inconvenient? yes with the lack of U turns. Thepprasit has always been too fast, people turn off Sukhumvit and continue the same speed as the road was so wide

It's NOT an improvement except for the (for now) smoother surface.

But the ridiculous signage changing from 2 lanes to 1 are dangerous,  specially for motorbikes

My Thai gf never follows those paintings.... and gets there fast.

I don't know a single local resident, Thai or foreign, who thinks this is an improvement.

First reply up above seems to think it is.

I haven't used it myself, I continue to avoid the road due to it's prior reputation. Although as a passenger to and from immigration it seemed to move better.

Yes, it is better.

But you need to be very careful at the fruit and veg market entrance.

As people are now coming the wrong way out the market,  and heading up the road the wrong way, going to the next U-turn. heading to the Sukhumvit.

Naughty buggers.

I think it is much worse than before. I dread using it now. What was the point of the traffic lights at Soi 8. The one time they used them it was chaos. No they just blink orange, how much did that cost?

Can someone explain the yellow markings? It’s a wild road for me before and after construction. Well they’re all wild I guess. The buses need to go.

its a bit better but i would help if they also activate the traffic lights.

They did it once, chaos, traffic was backed up from the lights to Sukhumvit. Took me 30 minutes just to crawl that 1 km.
