Phuket police have arrested a Chinese national who was allegedly begging for money.

The Phuket Express reports that Region 8 Police were informed that a foreign man was begging for money, claiming a disabled child needed help. On Monday, January 15, police arrested the man, named only as Mr Yang.

According to the report, the man would show people a notice about a disabled child in need of funds. Police confiscated an undisclosed amount of money from Mr Yang and he was taken to Phuket City Police station to be charged with begging for money in public without permission.
