Accident Hua Hin Storm: Tragic Electrocution Exposes Electrical Hazards
Picture courtesy of Lets Tour Bangkok A devastating storm in Hua Hin on Saturday night led to the tragic deaths of two individuals, electrocuted after their motorbike collided with a sagging power cable in flash flood conditions. This incident has raised urgent safety concerns and prompted officials to review the town's electrical infrastructure. The tragedy occurred on Soi 94, near the Dusit Land 10 housing estate, during heavy rainfall and flooding around 8:30 p.m. The pair, navigating their motorbike through submerged roads, inadvertently struck a low-hanging electrical wire. This impact caused the wire to fall, sending a deadly electrical current through the victims. Witnesses reported hearing a distress call from one of the riders, prompting immediate assistance from bystanders who rushed the victims to Hua Hin Hospital. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, both were pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Authorities, including forensic teams from Hua Hin Hospital and the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Forensic Unit, have conducted examinations of the scene and the victims. Initial investigations by local police are focusing on the condition of the area’s electrical systems to understand the cause of the wire's dangerous positioning. Superintendent Police Colonel Kampanat Na Wichai of Hua Hin Police Station has emphasized caution to residents and motorists, particularly during heavy rainfall when roads may be flooded, and cables can pose unseen dangers. He stated, "We’re urging the public to exercise extreme caution. Roads may be underwater and wires could hang lower; do not touch or approach them." Local authorities are now urging the prompt reporting of any loose or low-hanging wires by contacting Hua Hin Police at 032-511027 or dialing 191. This incident has intensified efforts from safety officials and utility providers to mitigate risks and prevent future tragedies, although for the affected families, the intervention comes too late. As the rainy season progresses, this incident underscores the critical need for diligent maintenance and inspection of electrical infrastructure to safeguard residents and prevent further loss of life in Hua Hin. Wasn't much of a challenge Ray. You asked for a number, I gave you it in my reply... It seems your attempt to "challenge me" fell pretty flat. 😄 -

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
If you like big SUVs I would suggest test driving a BYD Sealion 7. It costs ฿1,249,900 for the Performance variant and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The entry-level Premium variant is priced at ฿1,149,900. The CRV is priced from ฿1,419,000 to ฿1,729,000. The AWD models take 9.4 seconds 0-100. The 2025 CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring can achieve the same in approximately 7.9 seconds but it does have a battery and an electric motor. -

Health Six Dead as Covid Cases Surge in Thailand
If it's just like the normal flu and nothing special about it, it's not news. But it has the word Covid, and I think that this article is actually just rage bait lol. If they put the word Covid in it, they know that there will be people who are either completely done with it, I mean like really DONE, or people who still hide under their bed, double masked in a room where everything is covered in alcohol gel. These people only come out from under their bed to do their daily prayer in front of their Dr. Fauci shrine after pouring some alcohol gel over his statue and offer it some syringes on a golden plate. -
