advise needed. visarun. got rejected on airport

hello..

i where coming 10/2023 on a touristvisa. extended at immigration and one run to Cambodia. 3 days ago vietnam and back. officer says me staying last time (a year ago) nearly a year. (visarunner) and i can't go in.

now on my way back to vietnam. 

not sure they let me in again but vietjetair staff suggest a visa from embassy in saigon. 

think i got two choices.. going back to europe or trying get in via Cambodia.

everything! luggage,cards,cash.. in condo where gf (longtime) is waiting.

my head is nearly blowing.. need some advise.. thanks so much..

 

... have seen about 20 people last evening/night that got send back..

You can just fly to vietnam or laos and get a new tourist visa instead. Or enter via land border if you dont want a new visa. If you enter from laos and did not do 2 land borders this year, they let you in for sure.

 

You could know this is potentially possible to happen if staying long on the “visa run method” so just get over it and fix it. Its up to the officer.

 

Not need to leave the country as if it is war. But if you are not stuck here, plenty of other countries, if u marry a vietnamese girl at least get 5 year visa too lol.

 

Dont waste your time for more info here.

No it does not... unless the "victims" have sketchy travel documents... I have been traveling worldwide since my teen years and have never had problems entering or leaving any country... but, alas, I always follow the visa rules of each country.

Yes it does happen, all the time, as i said. Do i speak chinese? I had it happen to myself years ago and plenty of people i met on the island as well a german guy recently on 3 tourist visas in a row and then having done a on arrival don muang.

my pass is nearly full. officer was meaning I've been last year to long here.. and.. he doesn't like "visarunner"..

now waiting with airline staff for boarding. still don't know if they let me in again (vietnam). my country gets 15 day free every 30 or 60 days (?) still not got passport back..

HAHAHA.. your drivel hardly warrants a reply... but... sounds like you and your german friend do not follow the rules... 3 tourist visas in a row followed by an exempt visa is a warning to Thai IO that you are circumventing their rules.  The OP is an admitted "visa runner" who got caught out... simple solution for all of you... get the proper visas and no worries.

 

And follow your own advise... "don't speak if you don't know, it's simple."

Just so everyone is clear DMK and BKK airports deny HUNDREDS of people every week and send 'em back out to where they flew in from.

You BIG mistake was doing a bounce out and back by AIR to get a new free entry stamp after the entry/stay history you have 😕

You are unlikely to be able to get a tourist visa from either consulate in Vietnam (Hanoi or HCMC) with a denial of entry stamp in your passport 

I'd say if you're hell-bent on flying in do it to Chiang Mai <- that airport has NO confirmed denial of entries and is the softest touch airport to get in at.

Otherwise, fly to Malaysia or Lao and enter by LAND. Cambodia is gonna bot be the border to try to enter from with your denial of entry. That Aranyaprathet/Poipet border is the WORST border crossing to thailand out of all of them so avoid trying to come in there  

You're allowed 2 free visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year (so there's no way you've used those seeing as it's Feb 3 😛 ) fly to Vientiane Lao and enter at Nong Khai OR fly to Penang and enter at Sadao

OP, your immediate problem will be being admitted to Vietnam. 

What is passport country.

Not aware of country that only gets 15 days. Previously yes but rules changed Aug last year.

 

Thinking you have couple of options. 

Have the gf take mini holiday to Saigon and bring all your stuff, after which you fly home and have bit of a  break from Thailand.

Otherwise do entry to Thailand via land which would be horrible from Saigon but should work.

Why are so many people doing this to themselves? Get a good job home where you get 10 weeks paid leave, come 3 times a year, if you have the urge. But there are so many better countries than Thailand... Easy and peaceful, buy yes, work is needed.

Vietnam has rescinded the rule that tourists who enter visa exempt need to stay out of the country for 30 days before getting another visa exempt entry. So under normal circumstances that wouldn't be a problem, especially as you didn't max out your previous visa exempt stay in Vietnam.

 

Vietnamese immigration could still deny you entry based on returning as an inadmissible person from Thailand, but that seems to be hit and miss, so at least you've got a chance to get in under the current rules. 

 

Best of luck, please report back how it goes after arriving in Vietnam.

in 2 hour i land in da nang.there i see what they "stamp" me in passport and know they letting me back in after checking out just yesterday.

got as the first in the plane,same as vip or a criminal.. lol

not having any food 20 hour.

 

if you have anything to add..

advise,knowledge or bashing..

You're talking about "entry requirements", but Thailand currently has no hard limit on visa exempt entries by air, which they could impose if they wanted to (they did for land border visa exempt entries, which is strictly enforced). So whatever those "entry requirements" are is up to the individual IO.

 

A traveler doesn't find out that he's "blatantly not complying" until it's too late to avoid the consequences. That's a real shame.

 

All there is are mixed signals sent by different government departments. Some promote and wish to encourage long-term tourism, others see it as a threat.

Not usually the case in my experience.

 

More often, just cannot get a retirement extension because not yet age 50 or can't meet the financials

 

@popel

(1) did they stamp anything into your passport when they turned you away at the airport? (If they did, at your next entry attempt the IO will know about the prior refusal)

 

(2) what airport was this, Don Muang or Suvannabhumi? Don Muang is known to be especially prone to refusing entry.

 

(3) while a visa is no guarantee it definitely improves your odds of being admitted compared to a visa exempt entry. Especially given your history of stays.

 

(4) Cambodian border entries are tougher than Lao border. The Poipet/Aranyaprathet crossing is especially notorious and definitely to be avoided.  @DrJack54 will likely weigh in soon with more specific advice about best  border entry points.

 

(5) even if you are able to get in again I suggest you need a longer term solution. Either move on to another country, get a retirement extension (if aged over 50) or, if relationship with girlfriend is serious enough consider marriage. Or -if feasible - find a job and get a work visa (non-B) and work permit.

Obviously if he is living here long term he is not a "tourist" in the usual sense, he is a resident expat.  But this does not mean he is working here illegally. Most expat residents (however they manage their visa status) are not/do not.
