On Sunday afternoon, a joint operation led by Banglamung District Chief Veekit Manarotkit successfully shut down an illegal cockfighting gambling den in Banlamung, Chonburi, and apprehended 45 individuals involved in the activity.

Acting on public complaints, Mr. Veekit swiftly mobilized law enforcement to raid the den hidden in Soi Baan Kreak, Nong Pla Lai, on February 11th, 2024. Undercover agents infiltrated the cockfighting ring while officers established a perimeter around the premises.

The den, concealed amidst cassava plantations, had over 50 vehicles parked nearby. Inside, four active cockfighting arenas were hosting dozens of Thai gamblers placing bets on the roosters.

I always have to laugh about news like that.

Those fights happen in Thailand all the time everywhere. And I am sure if anybody is interested, they are easy to find.

But with news like that it always sounds like there was this unique event and the police acter fast and now it's over.

Yeah, sure.

The only reason the police raided this one was a late brown envelope.
