Tipping
Thais don't tip. It's expected in tourists areas. I tip 10% for food at restaurants/pubs and haircuts. So, usually 20-40 baht or so. Probably shouldn't even bother leaving a tip for food in tourist areas. They don't appreciate 35 baht, lol. I think they only appreciate 100+ I give a better tip for a great massage, usually 100 baht. I never tip anyone else, ever. -

Report Deadly Sandfly Disease Sparks Health Warning in Thailand
At the moment I can't see any country which will use Ivermectin in case of Leishmania. As first line treatments...check my link. This thread is not about Ivermectin!!. You're free to start a new one. -

Advice?? Bank accounts on death
IMO Lawyer perhaps will be needed when beneficiary/beneficiaries are not Thai. Otherwise what "Khun per" suggested (a civil documented will) would be the way. -

U.S. Immigration is reversing the termination of legal status for intl. students--for now
Actually a lot of stuff is insignifiant like minor traffic infractions. Just excuses to go after foreign students for reasons that seem to be mainly xenophobic. -

19 states sue Trump administration over push to end diversity programs in public schools
Judge blocks Trump efforts to eliminate DEI in public schools 04/24/25 A federal judge on Thursday blocked actions by President Trump’s Department of Education that aimed to force public universities and K-12 schools to get rid of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs. Federal Judge Landya McCafferty issued a preliminary injunction against a “Dear Colleague” letter that told universities they could be at risk of civil rights investigations if they have DEI programs on campus, a certification requirement for K-12 schools that DEI programs were eliminated and actions against schools reported through the Education Department’s “DEI portal.” “Today’s ruling allows educators and schools to continue to be guided by what’s best for students, not by the threat of illegal restrictions and punishment,” said Becky Pringle, president of the National Education Association. “The fact is that Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and [Education Secretary] Linda McMahon are using politically motivated attacks and harmful and vague directives to stifle speech and erase critical lessons to attack public education, as they work to dismantle public schools,” she added. Tipping
If the service is good and the food is brought hot to the table, and the waiter follows up to see if all ok, then I don't have a problem with 20%, but I'm not going to pay 20-25% tip on a $100 bottle of wine if the waiter just opened it and left it on the table up to us to fill our glasses.
