It's what's called a coup d'état: his state of being has had a sudden buck up.

Actually a coup d'état is when the military usurp power and take over from the elected government in power as happened in 2006 to Thaksin. It also happened to his sister, Yingluck in 2014.

Another term that could be used in place of a coup d'état is treason against the state.

Never heard of irony? Never heard of puns?

So, just as his parole period can begin he's suddenly well enough to leave hospital. What a coincidence.

I don't believe for a moment that he has ever been ill. I'm not sure if I believe he has even been in the hospital for that time either.

You simply can't trust these people. They are duplicitous, greedy, corrupt liars.

Everyone lies, everyone takes money that isn't theres. What planet do you live on?

Didn't know there was an Isaan in South Thailand, because that is where you live according to your posts

I had no idea that you could not read, understand or comprehend what people write.

Great news! My wife and her entire village are celebrating. Everywhere are red flags and flags with the image of Mr. Thaksin. Everyone is wearing red today to express their happiness.

Here in Issan people know when it's time for a party. 🙂

My wife is praying for Mr. Thaksin to replace the current PM asap and give back more to the lovely Issan folk.

☺️

If you had read it correctly and carefully you would see that he was talking about his wife

It doesn't matter to the Thai people what you, I or any other farangs think or say. It is up to the Thai people what to do about it.

As for your assertion quote "They are duplicitous, greedy, corrupt liars".

My answer to that is, pure unadulterated BS.

Didn’t you support both coups against Thaksin? You were very vocal about those on here despite the Thais not caring what you think or say! 😀

Thaksin has been convicted as being corrupt and thus a greedy liar, hence running away to Dubai, the detention in hospital etc.

Despite your advanced years, you’ve never quite been able to work this place out, have you?

Certainly a different World from yours, where none of that is considered normal or acceptable.

Thankfully.

Hope that clarifies. ☺️

That’s how it starts.

Next thing you know, you are killing and disappearing human rights lawyers, overseeing the extrajudicial killings of thousands of innocent people, and commanding an armed militia to burn commercial businesses in central Bangkok.

Where does it end?

Only killed 5 or 6. Go easy.

The thing that gets me in this forum is how farangs take sides in Thai politics. All Thai politicians are bent especially the ones in senior positions. I married into a large family outside of Korat. Believe me when Yinluck was PM they had some sort of future. When the Army took over illegally they hit rock bottom. Let Thaksin become PM again and  if he's not up to the likening of the Military then we will be back to the cretins from the Army to take over again.

How wonderful it must be to be so perfect and never have to change your mind

I can vaguely remember back to 2006 when Thaksin was deposed and at that time I probably agreed with it, but that was 18 years ago.

The same thing when Yingluck was deposed 9 tears ago. I know that I was in favour at the time as I believed what I read on TVF at the time.

It took me a couple of years to realise that it was all BS spread by the military.

What I do find a bit odd is how you, who only joined ANN 4 years ago know what I posted 18 years ago. I wonder why you would be looking that far back at MY posts, trying to find something or anything to try to discredit my current posts.

I can't even remember what I posted last week, let alone 9 or 18 years ago.

Then again the past is the past. Its over, let it go.

Being allowed out of hospital doesn't automatically indicate that he's not sick. Whatever his medical needs may or may not be, someone with his resources can surely arrange to receive medical attention at home that would probably be as good as what he was receiving in hospital.

Too ill to be in prison, but not too ill to go home.

He's not gone home just because of he's ill, he's gone home because he qualified for parole.

February 6, 2005: Thai Rak Thai records a landslide win, sweeping 377 House seats, and becomes the first party to form a one-party government.

March 11, 2005: Thaksin becomes the prime minister for the second time.

There was no irony, and certainly no puns, in your comment.

A translinguistic pun: état/state (of being).

And the irony was at Thaksin's expense (sigh).

No, it did not.  She was not Prime Minister at the time of the 2014 coup!

Yingluck was Thailand's first female prime minister and its youngest in over 60 years. She was removed from office on 7 May 2014 by a Constitutional Court decision!

On 7 May 2014, the Constitutional Court of Thailand removed Yingluck Shinawatra from the office of caretaker prime minister and defence minister following months of political crisis. The court found her guilty of charges of abuse of power over the removal of national security chief Thawil Pliensri in 2011. In the wake of the May 2014 military coup, Yingluck was arrested along with former cabinet ministers and political leaders of all parties and held at an army camp for a few days while the coup was consolidated.

On 22 May 2014, the Royal Thai Armed Forces, led by General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Commander of the Royal Thai Army (RTA), launched a coup d'état, the 12th since the country's first coup in 1932, against the caretaker government of Thailand, following six months of political crisis

The arm sling and neck brace are curious accouterments for someone who was/is so deathly ill.

Arm is hurt from writing so many checks.

Most hate Taksin or Trump. Why hate anybody? Hate is a sign your life isn't fun and therefore you are looking to blame somebody else.

I know!  She was removed by the Constitutional Court before the coup took place and at the time of the coup Niwatthamrong Boonsongpaisan had replaced Yingluck as caretaker prime minister.

I really don't hate Thaksin he is just another sad old hypocrite who will be dead soon, the establishment have already neutered him and he has paid for the privilege of returning by betraying his supporters and country. He is beneath contempt

I do dislike the way the Thai people are being treated by their establishment and the way they have been indoctrinated to just accept it. I also dislike the complete disregard for the rule of law shown by the establishment and I find it embarrassing so God only knows how educated Thai's feel about it

I would say the establishment should be ashamed but unfortunately I don't believe they know the meaning word...

Why would I ignore the morals and scruples I live by?

I do think the treatment of the Thai people is shameful and embarrassing. I know I can't change anything personally but when I see the establishment pissing on the people then telling them it's raining I won't stay quiet and accept it
