Sri Lanka has cancelled their long stay visas for Russians recently due to poor behaviour issues. Take note Thailand, a good start anyhow to attack your 600,000 plus on the island....... when did we see the Aeroflot first flight water cannon arrival salute....... Oct. 2022 I believe...... what a turn of events which should have been seen much earlier...money clouds reality unfortunately..........

The foreign mafia gangs reportedly were not afraid of laws as they allegedly smuggled illicit substances to their entertainment venues and were wealthy, paying off corrupt officials to avoid legal action, said Thanakorn. He wanted to reflect on the local problems and provide insight to the Thai Prime Minister and Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, for urgent inspection.

Increasingly bored of this.

Only place to have a 'card system', last week no mafia, clamp downs coming... never ending cycle.

Said to the wife, perhaps move to Samui for a quieter life.

Well, not only Phuket, Samui and Pattaya as well - known for Russians and their mafia there - I have witnessed it myself. Still holding a passport of that country, unfortunately...

"Mr. Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, the Deputy leader of the United Thai Nation, publicly revealed after visiting Phuket last week to inspect and gather information regarding an allegation of foreign mafia gangs in the area." Revealed what? Sentence construction much?

Thailand should take the same action as Sri Lanka regarding Russians. Refuse to renew their visas and give them 14 days to vacate the country. Just google "russians sri lanka"

Do ya think they will be able to sell all their apartments and villas and businesses in 14 days ? 😉

Quite from phuket governor just a month back:

"The Phuket governor has confirmed, according to him, that there is no foreign mafia in Phuket."

And what come to bribing police, that's obviously fake news. Thai police not accept bribes.

After deceiving millions of citizens with injections. After legalizing the sale of marijuana. Does this egg face still have a political role?

Chinese proverb... “If you open a window for fresh air, you have to expect some flies to blow in.”

Hardly a surprise, the mafia's here.  Another sign of the, imho, irresponsible government selling  off Thailand to hordes of tourists to rake in the money whilst corrupting the soul of a peoples, a heart of a nation with opportunistic and corrupt foreigners.

.."What sets these foreign mafia groups apart, as per Thanakorn’s account, is their apparent disregard for the law."....Hm,...As opposed to local mafias that respect the law ????

I guess the difference is that the Thai mafia are disregarding their own laws, whereas the Russians are disregarding someone else's laws.....bad form I'd say....5555

1) Phuket is controlled by the Thai mafia.

2) If any foreign mafia works in Phuket, then only because the Thai mafia allows them to work there.

3) So, whoever is seen doing the crimes, we can be sure Thais profit from it.

Once, long time ago, saw a docu about Russian mob in Pattya and the actions of Thai police.

Never ever heard again of proper actions to get rid of them. So they spread to Phuket, it is not a miracle, was just matter of time.

Politicians (and police) are quite keen on knowing who the foreign Mafia perpetrators are... but not for the reasons you may think... They just want to be sure they're not leaving any money on the table 😉
