  • Why are they scouting locations in Chiang Mai when Buriram has an FIA grade 1 track ready to go ?

I think Formula E races on temporary street courses exclusively.   I think 2026 might be the earliest a race could be held here.

It's hardly good enough for bikes so having F1 or any variants would be hopeless. It's the worst track on the Moto GP circuit.

Best you run along and complain to the designer Hermann Tilke then !

Looks like rag week,  for some poster. :coffee1:

So this is his way of combating the smoke in Thailand ,by having Formula-e races in Thailand ...

No it's his way of a compromise for not getting F1 hear in thailand.my guess is once he discovered how much F1 would cost he backed off.

Lack of visitor accommodation in Buriram?

".....executives of Formula E will be scouting locations in Chiang Mai next week to ascertain the feasibility of holding the championship in Thailand"

A long way to go before the actual GP is held then. Methinks the PM has jumped the gun somewhat.

Formula E won't attract too many spectators !

It could be the 'hottest' event of the season.😀

So many predictable and juvenile 'anti-Thai' responses from the usual suspects....

While I agree there may be an element of graft (there is throughout all sports when we dig deeply enough F1 - FIFA etc)...

So... that debate aside....   This is a good thing for Thailand...

The more major international events there are here, the greater the scope for the nation to develop.

Perhaps the nay-sayers don't want Thailand to develop, otherwise their monging days are over and their unedcuated squeeze will have higher sights...

Consider yourself "rounded up"?

So that their lap times cannot be compared to ICE cars.🧐
