Any guy who's decent looking, has a fair amount of game and a great sense of humor can achieve a fairly good success rate with Thai civilians in malls, on the streets, at outdoor cafes, and elsewhere. I have friends that have proven this over and over again but it does require some game, one needs to be bold, and you need to get them to laugh within the first three or four minutes you're talking to them. At that point you're golden, the percent of success rate is pretty decent. You will not experience nastiness or total rejection like you do in the West.

Normal girls is quite conservative ! Normal girls doesnt just jump on a foreigner one day, and just start out of the blue goung to a foreigners hotel room.

For one if you don’t speak Thai your like a fish out of water. If you speak English to them 9 out of 10 they don’t understand you. Over 90% of Thai women are not prostitutes. They might think you smell or you try to have sex with everyone in Thailand. They think you have a high body count. They don’t want you to give them HIV. Good luck.

   Its not normal behaviour for adults   to go around talking to strangers in shopping malls .

Thats the type of things that teenagers do

For many of us we don't care one iota what a stranger considers normal behavior. I've not spent my life trying to exhibit normal behavior, had I done that I would have led a life of total mediocrity. Exceptional people do not strive for normality in their lives.

I wasn't suggesting that, I was suggesting a date, a cup of coffee, lunch, and getting to know somebody and taking your time. This obviously doesn't apply to a transient person or to a tourist but for an expat who is living here and us patient, and is willing to court a high quality, high functioning woman, approaching a stranger can be quite effective. It does take cojones but it can be quite. 

 

A lot of these women just don't have the time, the willingness, or the patience to do the online thing. So by meeting a stranger you're able to tell immediately if you like the way they look, if there's chemistry, there are so many advantages with meeting in person over meeting online. 

 

I don't want to suggest that online dating is a cowardly approach, but it is certainly a far more timid approach, getting out there and doing it is for the strong at heart and highly confident man.

Northern European States majority of women are willing to "go" with southern E.U States men for "changes" but nowadays the "system" run in auto correction mode because of criminal activity of many Ukranians -Bangladeshians -Pakistanis -Indians migrants who claim they are Swiss -German or Holland-Greece citizens.

I think the same characteristics exist for Asia womens to "large" westerners men.

If you are a handsome clean good looking guy within 20 years of her age and have a good sense of humour you may well do ok with meeting regular non bar girls in a mall.  Yes it may be easier in Thailand but it does apply in many countries around the world.  In some places maybe the age difference is more like ten years but there are a lot of gals who do enjoy being recognized by handsome young men.  But many of these gals likely already get a lot of attention from a host of guys both thai and farang but may be semi interested in what you might have to say/offer.  At very least she can tell her girlfriends all about the farang who approached her in the mall and they can all have a good laugh.

 

And yes i know that there are always exceptions so if you are 75 y.o. and hitting on a 20 y.o. girl be aware she is probably not much interested in anything other than your wallet.

depends on the situation, if a girl is interested and lets you know then it's fine. pre-smart phones i met loads of girls in malls, on buses, walking through markets, in parks, non were working girls, and many wonderful times were had. smart phones and internet daring put an end to this, for me anyway. it was a lot of fun while it lasted.

I once met a young Thai lady in Macca's (Robinson cnr Suk Soi 19)

 

It was just after the opening of the Grande Sheraton opposite.

I happened to mention to her that the hotel seemed to be constructed in a very short time. She then went on to tell me that the facade and much of the building was pre fabricated and all trucked in during nights.  She was studying structures/architecture at Uni. A lengthy conversation that led to an inexpensive relationship for the next 3 week before I departed BKK. Our liasons were always at HER apartment and I always walked past her hotel's reception (well dressed)and said 'Hi' with a book in my hand. It sort've created the perception that my frequent visits were for business rather than pleasure. Maybe "face saving " for her

Things have changed a lot in the West, women are significantly less open than they used to be, and they are significantly more fearful than they've ever been. So the chances of hooking up with a girl casually in the West is a lot less than it used to be. I can attest to that with my many friends who are constantly trying.

 

However in Thailand I know multiple men who are having success in approaching good looking, younger strangers, getting their phone numbers and going on dates. Women are infinitely more open in Thailand and if you have game and humor, you're decent looking, and you have a little cash, or bling, they may have an interest.

 

I'm talking about absolute civilians, not the working types. It's all about stepping up to the plate and taking a chance, some guys have the cojones, and some guys don't. But you won't get shot down in Thailand like you will elsewhere. They may say no, or they may not be interested, but they'll be quite polite about it. 

 

Remember the big difference is in Thailand you're dealing with real women, as opposed to the West where you're dealing with beings that don't have very much connection with their innate femininity.

Agree. To look at it from a non hooker perspective, who could imagine that attractive Thai women ( is any guy going to try it on with a woofer? ), who get hit on all the time anyway, are going to welcome some strange farang trying to hit on them when just trying to do a bit of shopping? Do they imagine that a/ attractive Thai women are just hanging around malls waiting for a farang to ask them out for wild sex b/ attractive Thai women are interested in strange farangs c/ that they are such God's gift to women that their animal magnetism is going to sweep attractive Thai women into bed with them?

 

I was working on the assumption that said farangs are not wanting to spend an afternoon enjoying the history of various temples around Bkk, followed by an slap up dinner at their expense and a peck on the cheek as they say goodbye.

Errr, what's the chance that a random Thai woman met by chance speaks English well enough to a/ even understand a western joke b/ has a western sense of humour?

I've never encountered any Thai woman that had a western sense of humour, and I have never been amused by what has them rolling around laughing fit to bust.

What I have encountered are Thai women that pretend to understand western humour as they can sense a big pay off comin'.

I knew that many western women that were prepared to go out with a guy to get the freebies, but are not interested in giving him a home run. I imagine it would be similar in LOS.

 

I even had a nurse friend that used to to go to pubs for an evening with her friends, the guys would flock around and they would get free drinks all night, then they would leave.

She used to laugh about it, and she was actually a nice person. I hate to think what nasty women get up to.

People can meet anywhere, maybe they look at each other and maybe they talk. And maybe they realize that both of them want to see more of each other, or maybe they or at least one of them realizes that a few words are enough.

 

Perhaps it's easier to sort out the con artists on line. Con artists are expert at presenting themselves as attractive individuals instead of the vile scum they really are. That's harder to do if not face to face.

I liked that food court. It had the best satay I found in Pattaya. I think we got nam pla or bottled water for 10 baht. No free water machine anyway.

Someone else said there was definately a free water machine there and that you could fill up your bottle for free. Take a better look next time and let me know if you find it. They said guys were filling up for free and did not have to buy anything because it looked like they bought a water sitting there enjoying the a/c. Please let me know where the machine is. I'm tired of having to buy bottled water every time I need to sit down and escape the heat.
