Americans -- did you know that Albania wants us? (Another Plan B alternative to Thailand)

Have you been to Albania

When I was young, I travelled around Europe on a Top Deck tour, on a double decker bus, leaving London and travelling through Europe.

It was a fantastic tour, we mostly followed the Contiki tours buses but travelled different routes at times.

We spent some time in Corfu, we were given 5 sail boats to sail around the islands, spending a few nights on the yahts, sailing and sleeping.

The tour group gave a few of us the Captains role, I was in charge of a sail boat, Captain (I had sailing experience, I had sailed catamaran's in Australia).

I chose 4 crew members, another Aussie guy and 3 hot, sexy chicks. Sleeping with the captain was a condition for female crew members, the girls like the larger bed, the bigger bedroom and ensuite, I alternated each night with different girls.

Anyway, back on topic 😂

We were told not to sail to close to Albania as they would shoot at us.

Thanks mania. Beat me to it for posting that. You don't see that comparison everyday though it does seem that his knowledge of Albania is limited compared to Thailand. On the other hand it's a great tip to be sure to rent places with bidets (as they don't have bum guns there).

This is very curious.

I work for United, and for the past few weeks I have seen, what I would say are an abnormal number of bag tags going from Rapid City to Tirana.

Half of me hopes it's expat's fleeing the country, not Albanian gang lords

Well Albania has recently become a trend to cover by the retire abroad media types. Not necessarily good news as that will inflate prices sooner or later.

This couple found happiness first in Costa Rica and then in Panama.

Panama would be ideal for those who are married to Thai and can't get his/her spouse to other land. Like US, UK and others.Thais get visa free 90 days. Legal residency is easy too with low monthly income.

I know old pal from LA who's very happy at Bocas del Toro Islands, Panama

A fun comparison between Bangkok and Tirana.

These slow travelers have been most everywhere that any potential expat would ever consider so their regard for Tirana got my attention,

I understand the enthusiasm for Bangkok for sure but at my age it's just too crazy busy for my taste.

But of course there other choices in both Thailand and Albania.

HOWEVER, they reveal some bad news that if true is not at all good.

As mentioned before Americans get a visa free full year on entry. But before I thought you could endlessly renew that. Not so fast. They say you need to be out of Albania for 90 days. So to stay more permanently you need to apply for a different status.
