First time/ She had already stayed a couple of weeks with me under the normal pay after regime, so when she asked for an advance and a couple days off to go visit mama, I thought no problem, except that night at 1 am, who did I see coming out of Marine Disco with a young farang guy! Second time/ not paid in advance really, but I'd had a pleasant young lady for a few days on a day to day basis and thought I'd let her pay bar for me for a few days at same time without having to go all the way to Naklua myself, so gave her a thousand baht for a few days, and expected her to front up in the evening. Wrong. She didn't turn up that evening, and when I went to the bar myself she hadn't turned up for work ( probably hiding under the counter ). Lessons learned the hard way and never forgotten. All part of the rich tapestry of life in LOS.

I certainly hope not Because those bars have the well deserved reputation of ripping off customers, and they happen to have only Eastern European girls working there. So, the assumption is that they're owned by Russians, but who knows. A lot has changed in 20 years.

The girl gets the money not the bar. The bar gets the bar fine. I never had occasion to have anything to do with a mamasan, except once with a brand new off the bus girl that didn't speak English. The mamasan was full of it, so both she and the girl got nothing from me.
