No.

No problem if he's a bona fide university student.

 

If his absence was long and not during a break, however, it would be a good idea to have paperwork from the university explaining the absence.

Update. . my mate got deported , not blacklisted but IO told him his ED stamp from Immi office in Korat was fake. . . . hmm

That's quite a twist. Did he actually study in Korat, or did he obtain that "ED stamp" using an agent without studying?

That's a new one.

He was not deported. He was denied entry.

Agent visa but he was up in Korat in person att Uni and immi for the stamp . . look legit but hm. . . yes denied entry. . .can come back with TR.
