Chiang Mai, ranked fifth in the study, is celebrated for its tranquil temples, lush mountains

minus the months and months you can't see the mountains due to the horrendous air pollution.

Anyone beleive this? Must be a mistake surely? Streetfood prices up, western food prices up. Rents are certainly not down by over 50%.

Not forgetting the ever increasing PM2.5, then maybe health considerations aren't a factor in this absolute nonsense rating.

What a load of codswallop.

Bangkok known for it´s street food and temples? What? Bangkok is know for Nana Entertainment Plaza, Soi Cowboy, prostitution and soapy massage as well as a waterhole for all thirsty foreigners and other power drinkers.

After that, how in the world can two cities that mostly have such pollution that people need to walk around in masks be in top 10 choices for the worlds expat community?

Oh dear! Who have come up with this?

Known as such only to sex tourists and resident degenerates. For the young visitor it's KSR street food muck, terminal 21 and the ever fascinating 7/11 😄

I have never heard of them but the source of the article is

Preply, an online language-learning marketplace, has released its rankings on the top ten cities for expats moving to Asia in 2024. Two cities in Thailand, including Bangkok and Chiang Mai, were recognized among them.

I do NOT believe one word of this!!! Someone must be bribed or 'sponsored' to write this...
IF that is so, please expats, go to BKK and CM!!! More real Thailand for the rest of us 😍

It depends on why you went to Thailand , people who don't come for sex would not know of Nana plaza or Soi Cowboy .

The sex tourists have their side of BKK , whereas all the other non sex tourists have their own side of BKK .

Just the mongers know all about the prostitution side on BKK

Are you really that unaware? That´s sad.

No, it´s known by everyone who visits Thailand. Some go there for sex other for just a beer and looking. However, you are right about the 7/11. 😂

If high air pollution results in a high ranking "among Top Asian Cities for Expats", city governments in Thailand should make more effort to increase pollution.

(I was going to say they should make less effort to reduce pollution, but I have not seen any effort in that direction)
