Very happy to be back here, I left Melbourne when it was 13 C, not counting windchill.

Hoping to survive a plague carrier seated next to me, who coughed continuously from Melbourne to Singapore. The Singapore - Bangkok leg had a howling infant a few seats away. The joys of air travel.

I dont have that problem on 'first class carriages' Singapore airline. I get my own little room. You should try it one day.

It's the airline's responsibility, not yours. So, if they allow these small trolleys as carry-on, it will be used. If they don't check the size and weight (but they usually do with normal airlines) yo

  • I am not aware of business class being available on domestic flights within Thailand. Normal people prefer to spend their money on things less ephemeral than business class big-noting.

  • How about the ones who cannot possibly give up a nanosecond of posting on social media, after being told repeatedly by cabin staff to shut down their phone/tablet/ laptop during takeoff and landing.

If you are hoping to impress me with the fact you can afford first class, it's a fail.

I've known quite a few wealthy people. Some are level-headed about it, others not.

I suppose you don't actually carry anything to "carry on" as you will have one of your minions to do it for you!

It doesn't bother me the fact that you can only travel in cattle class like a student. Up to you.

Once you try first class you will never go back.

People who are as shallow as a mud puddle don't bother me either.

Best place for you is a little room, so you can't bore other people to death!😆

People always say how nice flying was while looking at pictures from the 60s where the passengers got full service and they are obviously wrong as they only get this impression by flying cattle class.

I always wonder if you charter a private plane, is the airline actually providing an escort girl as stewardess which you can use during the flight or are those cuties 'real' stewardesses?

Great News from the front end cesspit!

It gives the rest of us peasants the privilege of never having to meet, sit beside or, God forbid, have to converse with you or your ilk!

You really are clueless. I am not envious of people who are wealthier than me, I have enough.

I don't have a bitcoin wallet, as I don't subscribe to Ponzi schemes or cults. I don't need charity from anyone either, and especially not a shallow, patronizing troll.

I'm reminded by said poster of the Flanders and Swann quote: " Always be sincere, whether you mean it or not".

It has probably never left it's sofa and even flown steerage anywhere!

Probably only owns a bicycle and not even a car!

If you are offering, ... no thanks, I'm good.

Not offering. You can always beat yourself off with one of the old Sylvia Krystel films, in an aircraft toilet.

That's called the Half mile high club. :giggle:

Never flew first class. Above my pay grade.

But I did once stay at the Inter-Continental in Hong Kong (on someone else's expense)

Luxury is nice, but ....

A staff came to my room and brought chocolates to welcome me to the room and he bowed as he gave me the chocolates.

First and last time anyone every bowed at me. I get treated like crap mostly in real life.

First class 5 star hotel/restaurant folks love this kind of treatment, to be made to feel like they are royalty.

I find it all ridiculous.

And it's not healthy for your ego to spiral out of control and you start thinking you're more important than everyone else.

I think it is exactly the point, so many feel as follows:

"My convenience is so much more important than the inconvenience I cause others."

The airline I am flying has options for 7kg or 14 kg on the plane so it’s not done to inconvenience but to get somewhere as the airline recommends is appropriate. If there’s no room the airline would no doubt have to update their policy.
