Retirement extension 1 year inside Thailand

Featured Replies

I have been a teacher for over 20 years on a Non O visa

I am planning to retire in a few months

What documents do I require?

I did my first extension recently in Bangkok, this was my list of documents;

TM7 application form

Copy of passport photo page and all stamped pages - they didn't keep any other than the photo page and last entry page.

Copy of non-O e-visa

TM30

Apartment lease

3 additional forms they gave me to fill in (overstay acknowledgement, some other things, didn't actually read them)

Bank letter

Bank statement (I gave 12 months where 3 should have been enough but why invite issues)

Copies of bank book account page and last page showing a transaction today

Others will know better if there are any specific issues relating to the change of reason for extension from Work to Retirement.  You'll of course need THB800k in the bank for 2 months at least when you get the first extension.

Apart from above helpful link; the required documents might vary depending on where you live, some immigration offices are more strict than others.
