I just watched The Fall Guy in the cinema. I really liked it. Action, entertainment, romance, fun, and at the end some clear anti-woke message.

I didn't see any actors from minority groups who were just included to tick some boxes.

Not even some climate change or white men are bad message. 

What happened? Did someone in the film industry finally realize that many of us don't want those stupid woke movies?

 

 

Disappointing. I've been working hard on acknowledging my white privilege and recently made reparations.

He was not Ken, he is an actor, and he plays different characters in different movies. 

Recently it seems there were only woke movies. Like: Take an old movie which people loved to see, and then make a remake with some feminists and sexually confused individuals, add some natives and some with green or blue skin, and hope that people will watch it.

 

 

But then, you are obviously one of those confused creatures, and you think you live in the matrix. I understand that it is difficult for you to accept reality.

He was also in DRIVE and FIRST MAN, both of which were excellent, esp the former. But what is your point? Actually, don’t answer, not interested… going by your post you’re clearly a troublemaker and not worth taking seriously. 
 

 I will note this one down, thanks. Two fine actors and it would be refreshing to see a real movie for a change. Generally don’t watch new movies anymore as they are typically contrived to fit some silly agenda, which is what has happened to the film industry post-2020. Just shambolic.

Creativity in Hollywood is in critically short supply when they remake movies that were lame in the first place!

I think "creativity" is defined as putting as many inappropriate ethnicities and genders into a movie as possible. Eg, when they made a Lord in the time of Elizabeth 1 a black man, or trying to make 007 a black female ( he was actually a Scottish/ Swiss man ). I have no problem with black male or female actors as long as they are appropriate for the characters they play. I liked Rush Hour as much as anyone.

It looks like it should be really good, both leads are excellent personable actors, and the action/love story components look like they'll work.

 

The "Stunt-Man" premise works well, from Hooper to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. There was even a Fall Guy TV show in the 80's which ran for a bunch of seasons. And Ryan Gosling portrayed a stuntman in Drive, which was a great film.

 

But, for a film positioned as a summer blockbuster, it has been a big disappointment at the box office, even though Ryan Gosling has been valiantly promoting it.

 

 

Woke means so much to the few who invoke it so it's hard to say if there is a downwards trend of woke-ism in Hollywood films based on a single film.

Before I watch a movie, I often have a look at rottentomatoes audience score. That is often a good indicator if the movie is any good.

And obviously it also depends on what kind of movie we like to see, like comedy, drama, etc.

Ever since I heard of this woke movement I never really gave it a rats arse. 

 

Probably got more annoyed at their misuse of the word itself.  It's not a noun. 

 

I can understand it being used in various ways for example,  "He just woke up"  and is now awake. 

 

So whenever I hear anything to do with this 'woke' movement, change channel or move onto something else.   If they are talking about perceived injustice due to whatever then call it for what it is. 

 

Don't label it with a word such as 'woke'... It doesn't make sense.

We have differing opinions,  that's okay.   I see it's in the dictionary as an adjective.  It was created in the 2010s.  

 

No doubt new words will be created in the future and old ones will be forgotten. 

 

I'll stick with what I understand as a verb.  I'm not into hugging trees to make people feel better.
