Thai Woman vs British Man Altercation in Buriram

A dispute between a Thai restaurateur and a British man has led to serious accusations in Buriram province’s Isaan district. Komkhai, 38, operator of Madam Chickan, alleges that Stephen Anthony Cleverley, 55, threatened her with physical violence and brandished a firearm.

CCTV footage showed a tense altercation at her eatery and Cleverley confronting a seated patron with his motorbike.

Komkhai and Cleverley have known each other for a while, as she used to supply construction materials for his cannabis farm. Komkhai, however, distanced herself due to Cleverley's volatile behavior.

On April 12, after a row with a customer, Cleverley allegedly attempted to crash his motorbike into them, which led to Komkhai banning him. Komkhai states that Cleverley returned on May 3, posing a threat to her and her customers.

The police questioned Cleverley on May 6 following these allegations. Cleverley then claimed that Komkhai, using her connections in the foreign community as a result of her relations with multiple foreign men, had defrauded him of over 10,000 baht.

He says she promised passport services for the money but failed to deliver, even retaining crucial documents.

In fact, a complaint had been filed by Cleverley against Komkhai for passport fraud previously and is currently under investigation. The Police have pledged to maintain justice for both parties as their investigations continue.

Great, the Brit moron invasion has begun even in quiet peaceful Buriram......*sigh*

There are many Brits in Buriram and there have been for many years.   One altercation, of which full details are yet to be proven, does not make a "moron invasion".

I tend to believe him about being defrauded, but who in their right mind would chose a woman running a Chicken shop that is spelt Chickan, to renew your passport when so many reliable agents can do it

He wouldn't take those actions if she hadn't defrauded him. IMO

Not mentioned is did he get a new Passport or not ? apart from not getting back 'important documents'.

A couple made for each other.....until they weren't !

MyThaiVisa is based in Phuket.

They may have agents, legitimate or not, in Buriram but they are not based there.

Of the 25-30 or so I've met there over the last year......sorry, the majority really prove the stereotype. Drunk undereducated louts, especially the business owners catering to the expat community and their fanboy regulars. But yea, a few are somewhat normal/well adjusted.

I guess it was not them that were drunk.

I don't care if one nation consists predominantly of X million white, black, brown or yellow morons. Morons are morons, it's got nothing to do with race. But thanks for proving my point, genius (that is called "sarcasm").

2 hours ago you were of the opinion that the" Brit moron invasion" had just begun, Now you claim to have met 25 to 30 of them over the course of the last year, most of them being "drunk uneducated louts" apparently "proving the stereotype"

Now then lets just imagine that you decide to take a trip to the good old USA lets say somewhere like Baltimore for example, you would  find the streets infested with pimps, prostitutes  drug dealers, addicts, cutthroats  and general ne'r do wells , all members of a "certain " community easily distinguished by their skin colour!

I doubt you would publicly post insults  on here or anywhere else aimed at that community, nor claim that  those people proved or validated the existence of a certain "stereo type"   I mean that would be racist would it not? and I am really really sure you would not want to appear to be one of those. and  you definitely don't consider yourself to be guilty of racism do you?

If you're talking about ghetto monkeys with ttpical names like "Deshauntay Washington"... I have no problems calling them what they are.  Similar to white trailer park trash.

Funny thing about generalizations......they are generally true.
