PRIDE, LBGTQ+/- and all that

Featured Replies

What do you think about PRIDE, LBGTQ+/- and all that?

Personally, I have no problem with gays and lesbians and transgender. They should be happy and be treated like anybody else.

What really gets on my nerve are all those extra promotions. PRIDE, special rights for all those from those many letter word, DEI, people who are not satisfied with he and she, they want to be "they" and they insist that they are they. Just crazy!

What do you think about this? Do you think we should have more PRIDE and LBGTQ+/- and whatever promotions?

Or do you think it would be just fine without any promotions for those special people?

To be clear: This is not a hate thread against any of those "others". What I think is annoying is all this celebrating that they are different.

I,m very happy to be a 100% hetrosexual male and I have two fine sons that have provided me with three wonderful grandchildren :wai:

I don't think about it or them at all.   Only place I hear or read it discussed is here on AN :coffee1:

Usually ignore the thread, especially if long running.   Stop posting on most threads, as if you win a argument with someone, they seem to report to post and it gets deleted.   Had more than a few deleted recently, so I'm pretty much in 'why bother' mode.

Don't think I can state anything else, as surely someone will be offended, and this will get deleted.   Short and safe answer above   :coffee1:

I don't care how they claim their life.... Hopefully, they respond in kind....

Unfortunately, that 2-4% isn't quietly satisfied with that....

It never seems to be enough, whatever they're given.

Notice how the original post falsely characterized as not hateful has attracted even more hateful replies. Bigots are so predictable.

You're then only one bringing the hate, i'm merely stating facts.

I didn't see any facts from you. Only bigotry, feeling of superiority for being straight, and resentment.

This a common game right wingers play. Like expressing racism towards immigrants and then calling the people defending the immigrants racist.

What facts do you want.

The are my observations as a normal human being, they're not made up.

Tell me i'm lying....

More honest.

No facts.

Just your subjective opinion from someone who considers themselves normal.

Hundreds of years of persecution don't get washed away psychologically overnight just because a particular group of people are now 'legalised'. Ask any black person in Usofa!

To the extent that particular - standout - groups of people are gradually accepted as 'normal' and gradually feel more and more accepted and comfortable in a given society, their need to standout - celebrate, shout slogans, self-indulge publicly at every opportunity - will gradually diminish.

At least that's what should happen.

My facts are what i have seen and witnessed by myself and many, they're not made up.

You just don't want to listen to anything that's opposite of what you think or your opinion, this reinforces my point.

LGBGTQXYZ+++ ( and the rest ) are never happy, it's never enough.

Bi Bi ( no pun intended ), y'al have a great life.

I ask for nothing.

This is just another hostile to LGBT topic designed to attract responses from the similarly intolerant.

It's you that's made it like that, you're not realistic.

That's a shameless lie.

Carry on with the ignorance and bigotry.

And yet, yours was the first, negative, argumentative post.  Name calling & implying the OP is a bigot.  Or implying anyone replying in agreement is probably a bigot.

OP simply asking how people feel about 'special interests' groups, and I have to agree, I tire of their 'look at me' mentality, as if they are special and deserve special treatment.

Same with 'I am woman", 'I'm black & proud', or any other race, religion, nationality, sexuality that needs to announce themselves, have a special day, week or month, or be more privileged for one thing or another.

Do you really need to announce you are different.   Most are fairly obvious to the eye.  You're a cross dresser, I would have never guessed.

What .. a woman ... stop it.

Black ... you sure, and here I just thought you over did it at the tanning salon.

Hey everyone ... I'm a 'white male' ... sounds F'g ridiculous :coffee1:

I have been polite with my honest comments so far, whereas all you've written is insults.

Says it all about 'you lot' doesn't it....

Unless you specify which "special rights" and "extra promotions" you're talking about it's hard to comment.

More hostile toxicity and resentment against minority groups.

Exactly. And it's easy to slide back if you keep quiet.
