I had a wonderul latin teacher in high school....miss cook all 5 feet of her who was a duke grad and seemed to know most everything about enlish latin math geometry and all sorts of subjects....at the time of course i wasnt sure why i was learning all that latin but over time it dawned on me how very useful a bit of latin can be in learning other languages or increasing vocabulary as well as lot of legal terms etc...thanks miss cook.

There's a trick they use in the South to disenfranchise Blacks. They require all voters to use a DMV issued id,and then close DMVs where Black people live.

 

Plus, they litter White voter precincts with polling places, but shutter all but one in Black precincts. And then, for fun, the Elections Board issues voting pamphlets with the wrong address for the polling place.

I took Latin in high school. It helped me a bit to learn Spanish, but was very useful for learning Russian.

They're the folks who went to that city to protest the removal of statues to men who fought to protect their 'right' to hold other human beings in bondage. During a nighttime march, torches ablaze, they chanted "Jew will not replace us!".  The felon referred to them later as "some very fine people". Slavery advocates and antisemites as very fine people?

 

A year or two ago the felon invited Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes to dinner at the felon's country club. Holocaust denying was an outrage in the 1940s; in 2024 it is criminal (at least in Germany). Would you like more French Fries, Nick? I bet he, too, is a "very fine person". Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think President Biden ever sent out an invite to Nick Fuentes for a State Dinner at the White House.

Indeed - although as an Englishman I am not particularly familiar with the case of the "Central Park Five".

 

Fairly thorough perusal of these 50 odd pages has confirmed that rationality is not really a feature of "Trumpian" supporters!

 

Nor, would It seem is the concept of fairness; an openly selected jury, scrupulously directed by a meticulous judge in a public trial, convicting on evidence and testimony, is after all regarded as "unfair"!
