Thai CBD market stands to lose THB 10bn

Recommended Posts

What a harsh comment mr breez and you are mistaken about the possibility of some persons in government who may well push for recriminalization of weed and hemp products.  Whether just flexing political muscles or blowing hot air, this possibility has been raised numerous in recent months.  Hence the need for reporting as seen by the efforts of george a few hours ago.  Thank you very much for that information, btw, george.❤️🙏

"If the government proceeds to criminalise cannabis and hemp to suppress misuse, manufacturers and investors of these products could stand to lose over 10 billion baht of investment," stated Tossaporn Nilkamhang, the association's president. "Furthermore, it threatens to shake investors' confidence in government-led future projects."

Scaremongering....

The 0.2% THC rule can easily be circumvented, see the product in the attached picture. I still don't know how they managed it to get it legal when flowers with even moderate THC content won't get you as high as 3 or 4 of these gummies....

Are you using LightLab? Who is determining the percentage of the and CBD? What is the certification process?

The article says “ an estimated one million applicants preparing to register their CBD products.” ,”

that’s a lot of “ producers” registering Products ,  where exactly? What agency? Who certified them?

i'd be weary of testing here. i did some *testing* with a *certified lab* and the results were very far off. because of my expertise in extraction i cannot see how they came up with the results i was given.

Were they over or under?

about 60 percent give or take below actual (approx) numbers.i can tell within a few percent what the thc levels of the flower are. if their results are not similar to mine i know they are pulling a fast one.

happens quite a bit in north america. people automatically assume that oh well it's lab tested so it must be true.

not the case. there is a lot of pay to play happening in the industry. some clever tricks as well.

1 example. you could rub in a small amount of kief into a flower before it was tested. it would bump your results quite nice.

How can you be so sure of your flower Thc levels but so skeptical of your extract levels?

Dont get me wrong @stoner I’m in agreement with you about lab testing. I’ve been beholden to lab testing for 10 years. I know quite well what the deal is.

in a country like Thailand, where there is NO mandatory THC or product health/safety testing, what’s the point to argue? Don’t you think weed stores are just citing the THC levels advertised from the seeds the flower is grown from? There’s the biggest lie of all.

Touting your own extract to be of a higher THC percentage than lab reported, in a country where there is NO testing, just seems like a waste of bandwidth.

p.s. those portable units for in-house testing are absolute garbage. We’ve put several through trials: all inconsistent with no two results ever being the same. There is a reason why they can’t be used for testing/labeling in the US and Canada. I just stated the obvious reason.

maybe not worded so right.

i compare the percentages of the test to the return of the extracted flower. if i get 23 percent return on concentrates (flower extraction) then the flower should also be in that general range. give or take.

not 60 percent lower.

ps...yes i agree the purple pro are not a good test at all. they are only semi accurate up to a certain point. have had wide ranging results with same flower.

First of all, it's neither my product nor my testing device.

But I might have a clue how this gummies get below the official 0.2 % THC.

1.) The light lab device is not intended to measure edibles, only flowers. So the result is wrong.

2.) The THC content is measured in % per weight/weight. Cannabis flowers are usually low in water content and therefore higher in solids like THC. Gummies have a relatively high water content, therefore much higher weight. A few mg THC won't matter if one piece of gummy weighs 0.5 gramm. This for example is why the fat content of cheese in the EU must be labelled as % in dry matter. Not the actual cheese
