Thai football fans are in for a treat as it was announced today that they will be able to watch all matches of the UEFA Euro 2024 championship live from June 14 to July 14. A consortium of private companies has successfully secured the broadcast rights, ensuring fans won't miss a second of the action.

Speaking at Government House, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin expressed his gratitude towards the companies involved. He highlighted that this arrangement was entirely facilitated by the private sector, with the government not having to spend any taxpayer money.

The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to remind fans to enjoy the matches responsibly and to refrain from gambling during the tournament. An avid Liverpool supporter himself, Srettha mentioned he would be rooting for the English team.

The consortium behind this initiative includes Summit Footwear Company, PTT Public Company, and Airports of Thailand Public Company. Komon Juangroongruangkit, CEO of Summit Footwear (Aerosoft), who holds the broadcast rights for Thailand, declined to disclose the financial details but noted that the cost was higher than previous deals.

PPTV will serve as the primary broadcasting channel for the matches, with plans to coordinate with at least two additional channels to ensure comprehensive coverage.

This move comes as a major boost to Thai football enthusiasts, seeing as football is one of the most popular sports in the nation. The UEFA Euro 2024 promises to be an exciting event, and now, Thai fans can look forward to experiencing every goal, tackle, and dramatic moment as it happens.

For now, all eyes will be on PPTV and the other potential broadcasters as they gear up to deliver top-quality coverage. Football fever is set to grip Thailand, making this summer one to remember for all sports fans.

Speaking to reporters, the Prime Minister expressed his enthusiasm for the tournament, which will see 24 national teams compete across 10 German stadiums from June 14 to July 14. Among these teams, England, despite never having won the championship since its inception in 1960, is one of the prime contenders.

Historically, Germany and Spain lead with three UEFA Euro victories each, followed closely by France and Italy with two wins apiece. England, however, has consistently fallen short, making this declaration of support particularly intriguing.

Prime Minister Srettha didn’t shy away from naming other strong contenders. “France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and hosts Germany are also among the favourites,” he remarked, acknowledging the stiff competition that lies ahead.

The tournament promises an exciting lineup, including teams such as Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, the Netherlands, and other nations like Albania, Austria, Czech Republic, and Scotland, to name a few. Each brings its own unique flair and talent, making for a highly anticipated event.

In a move to boost viewership and national morale, Prime Minister Srettha confirmed that every match of Euro 2024 will be broadcast live and free across Thailand on state-run TV Channels 9 and 11.

The broadcasting rights, acquired by Summit Footwear Co., were secured for an undisclosed sum, ensuring that football fans across the nation can enjoy the matches.

The Prime Minister’s endorsement of England adds a personal touch to the international event, giving Thai football fans an intriguing choice of team to follow.

With the tournament just weeks away, excitement is steadily building, and all eyes will soon turn to Germany for what promises to be a memorable UEFA Euro 2024.

As the government had nothing to do with gaining this the PM should remain quiet and continue his chat with the legal team .

PPTV

Not one for watching Thai TV but I just thought I put on PPTV Live for a quick look, some sort of Karaoke going on a stage, one is a cop, and a large guy next to him picks his nose then looks at his finger Yuk.

'Football mad Thai's' , shame they don't support their local teams/ domestic football with decent crowds, only this way will football in Thailand progress at all levels.

I follow my local team, the gates last year were well down, probably due to lack of money

England are Shaw to  win Eze after the Thai PM's support. He's made his selection from the Mainoo to play Serbia. He's decided to stick with Rice.  He announced that his selection was not exactly Thaksin his brain and that he stayed calm and decided to be non-controversial and raise Kane.

In every large competition England is placed near the top but always has a problem finishing. I wonder if it is the pressure from fans?
