I suggest you look up asymptomatic covid infection. It seems my above explanation wasn't clear enough but in the most simplest of terms you can be infected and not know that you're infected. It would be close to 100% infection rate in Thailand. Maybe you haven't had it but the point is without a blood test you can't be certain. I have no idea how many times I've had it. Two for sure but very possibly more. Sniffle here, bit of a sore throat there, a cough, a splitting headache, a few aches and pains etc. Don't take much notice as it's all pretty mild. Covid? Maybe, maybe not.

You don't understand, I don't care about your waffle, I/we have not had covid, the Whole extended family HAVE. We were vaxed, we wore masks when others didn't because they didn't look trendy, couldn't find brand name ones....😱

Many millions of people didn't get covid who did not get vaxed or wore masks, I don't care, we are all made different, BUT, like most things, if you feel like taking precautions, then do so, if not, I don't care, but don't preach to me......☺️

Come on - you really think that continuing to wear a mask while you also eat a meal is either rational or sensible?

If you're that worried about catching Covid outside, then don't take the mask off at all.

I think I've been pretty consistent and common sense about such things, which isn't hard:

1. We don't eat out nearly as much now as we used to pre-COVID.

2. When we do eat out now, I always keep my N95 mask on at all times, except when actually eating, including while waiting for the food and after eating.

3. When we do eat out now, we typically try to do so at times when customer traffic isn't busy and sit as far away as possible from other seated tables.

4. And I'm up-to-date with the latest XBB-variant COVID vaccine, unlike most people in Thailand.

I'm in my 60s, so I'm in the age range where I'd be at increased risk for bad COVID outcomes, were I to come down with an infection. So I behave accordingly, as I always have.

That's all well and good but you haven't answered my question: do you really think that continuing to wear a mask while you also eat a meal is either rational or sensible?

Thank you very,  very much for never giving up and still keeping people updated.

I got a little bit more relaxed than you about masks, but I got scared last week when a friend got covid 2 days after we met. It was a timely reminder that covid won't disappear.

I wear a N95 in lifts, taxis, public transport,  7-11, usually also in shopping centers.  Hardly ever eat out anyway.

Where did you get the vaccine? I got it abroad, and last week's article in the Bangkok Post didn't sound like it would be easy or cheap to get in Thailand.

BTW I also make sure I have access to Paxlovid 24/7

There was no Covid in 2019.

The first news of this came out on January 1, 2020, referring to what was claimed to be a "novel coronavirus" first "detected" on December 31, 2019.

The first country to do surveillance and impose restrictions (although very minor and involving no more than form filling) other than China was Thailand and this occurred on January 3, 2020 on flights arriving from Wuhan.

Covid started in China in the last months of 2019.

The news about it came in the last week of 2019, when Taiwan warned the world,  but the world chose to ignore the warning.

The first country to do surveillance and impose restrictions was Taiwan, starting in the last days of 2019.

My question is di you have a life? You can't prevent to get sick, you only can try everything you can do, but at what price? Far away ftom others in a restaurant, wearing mask waiting for food, but than you take it of to eat and virissen float through the air and still can infect you. And how about socialising? On distance with a mask? No drinking together? Ot is fun i believe

A proof that wearing masks doesn't stop Covid, as Thailand is one of the only countries that still promotes mask wearing

Real world proof that masks don't stop the spread of COVID was China after it stopped it draconian and useless lockdown. When the CCP lifted this virtually everyone wore masks and COVID spread throughout the country like wildfire.

Long COVID, the new bad back syndrome......

It's a great excuse for nearly every performance issue people might have.
