Gay Travel -- Chengdu, China's "Gay Capital" in the midst of a national anti-gay crackdown

Featured Replies

The one party rule government of China has been cracking down on gay civil rights in recent years seemingly with the justification to prevent "feminization" of male youth. That unfortunate backlash after a period of increased civll rights.

Anyway, the massive inland city of Chengdu already a great tourist draw for spicy Sichuan food and bears (of the panda kind) is now seen as the best place in China for gay people.

Have you recently travelled to China? Chendu?  I've never been. I'm a little put off by so many smokers and the Chinese specific cashless payment thing there. Also these days you can get quite decent Sichuan food in Thailand.
