Featured Replies

  • Yes, though in the absence of a 'Thumbs down' dislike/disagree option then the Sad, LOL and Confused emoticons tend to get used as alternatives. I don't really understand why there isn't a thumbs down

  • If you were a teenage girl I would tell you not to worry about it dear.   Any grown man that worries about emotional stickers has a problem. The war veterans must be rolling in their graves.

Grown up men use spineless emotions, got it

Though men use spineless emotions, got it

Spineless men have grown a spine and use spineless emotions, got it

Confused men use spineless emotions, got it

Have a good day

Mom always told me if I can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. The only emoji I use is Like. Or nothing.

They need to use AI to evaluate whether each member's "contribution" is making the forum money, or losing the forum money, keeping in mind that we are the product. Then the decisions are easy...

or the giver just used it because you had a beef with them in another topic.

Giving positive emotions would be a better indication when someone likes your post, but no response would tell you your post was not making any impression, while if you disagree, you actually have to tell why you react in a negative way, and give the person a chance to clear a misunderstanding. Just giving a confused emotion is lazy and in my opinion spineless when it is just because you have a different view for instance in the more political threads.

What you read into the confused emoji is entirely up to you. But if you are of the disposition to have 'beefs' with anonymous people on the internet and arbitrarily label anonymous members as 'lazy' and 'spineless', then I can see why you are losing sleep.

Just to let you know, I have muddled my way through almost 28 years on this forum, making 34,353 emoji-free posts while enduring 45,925 profile views. I don't look at the emoji's my posts attract, nor am I interested in who's sniffing my arse.

Sticks and stones may break the bones but words and silly little digital characters are completely harmless unless of course for some weak minded folks

Obviously I'm hitting a nerve?

Strong minded forum members would not bother, right?

One reason i never bother with sad and confused emoticons is why would i want to give a plonker post extra reputation?

That's true, reputation doesn't discriminate 😁

I have never given a sad or confused face. But is reputation still a thing now - I though that had gone i.e. you used to have 2 scores i.e. posts and some measure of reputation to see - but that was some time ago.

I don’t recall ever hitting the sad or confused emoji. Occasionally rarely hit a positive. Gloss over most of the negative rhetoric. Mostly just drop a couple turds on a thread and move on. Really nothing on this forum to get worked up about or be personal over, just a bunch of bits and bytes. Though it’s quite entertaining watching some here get all wadded up over what others think and believe.

This have really been a productive day! Got plenty of confused emotions and also in other previous posts in other treads!

Thank you all for your great contributions, really appreciated it, and fantastic to prove a point how spineless some of you guys are!

Have a good evening and a good night

There should be emotions on "disgust" especially at posts are considered disgusting and immoral!!!

It's an emoji, it can't be abused.

If 40 people want to add a "confused" emoji because they either disagree with what I've written, or even because they are just a muppet, then it's all good.

Did prefer it when they were not anonymous though.

I'd prefer a "You're so effing pedantic that I'm not sure you even realise it. 99% of your posts are worthless and, while you might think you're extraordinarily impressive, you come across as a complete pratt" emoji.

I'd only use it for one member's posts though 😉

That hopefully has gone ,in this day and age with PC

Even children at school cannot win competitions anymore, the loser may be offended

Some posts really earn the 'Confused' emoji ..... such as repeatedly refusing to accept the basic science of fuel combustion and carbon dioxide production despite several detailed explanations, or posts linking every single thread to Trump.

Thankyou for using I believe...Pommy slang words !

Australian people on here would not understand

Try in all your heart to know this is a multi cultural forum , you should not use just one countries words ,others may not know the meaning, they may not use those words etc

Please attend education on multi cultural that's all I ask .

Please stop using "slang" that only people from certain countries understand .

It's not your fault you have been brought up in a country where racism is prevalent

Learn the Australian slang please !!!!!

Don’t let it get to you so much, you’ll be much happier.

It is ok to express positive and negative response, but I prefer to use positive emotions instead of negative, where Im more than happy to reply and tell why I disagree, and why I think it is wrong.

Anyway, the thread have proved my point very well, and I have with intention tried to provoke by using spineless.

Nobody seems to catch the humor either. I take responsibility for that.

I think people take all forms of social internet activity way too seriously. There are jerks online. One persons' jerk is anothers' friend. It's just the way it is and it wont change. It's also very easy to take a post very much the wrong way, as is highlighted ^^^ just a couple of posts up there.

hi i am 9. i am triggered by smiley face things on the internet.

you should look at it like a badge of honor that some adult took the time to show a cry baby emotion on a comment you made. we need a gotcha emoji on here.

or a dumb question emoji would be good too.

I know Im not the average Joe here, not native english language skills, and sometimes provoking with intention, as well sometimes with humor.

I try not to, but sometimes people just ask for it. By the way, your English is pretty good. Way better than my Aussie 😉
