Immigration authorities have arrested a Japanese national named Mr. Miyoshi in the Khlong Toei area of Bangkok. The 43-year-old was apprehended following a tip-off about his unlawful stay in Thailand. Upon investigation, officials confirmed Mr. Miyoshi had overstayed his visa.

Beyond his visa issues, there are deeper concerns. Mr. Miyoshi is reportedly linked to a series of criminal activities back in Japan.

Over the past year, he has been implicated in 111 theft cases across five areas of Japan, causing damages that amount to nearly three million Baht. Furthermore, he is suspected of leading a well-known theft gang and a motorbike gang in Japan.

To confirm his identity and criminal background, the Royal Thai Immigration Bureau collaborated closely with the Japanese Embassy. The arrest occurred at a condominium in the Phra Khanong district, and Mr. Miyoshi is now awaiting deportation.

This case throws a spotlight on the intricate nature of international crime and the crucial role of cross-border law enforcement cooperation. The arrest of Mr. Miyoshi not only highlights the diligence of the Thai Immigration Bureau but also their commitment to maintaining national security.

The incident serves as a potent reminder of the importance of stringent immigration checks, aiming to deter and address illegal activities and uphold the rule of law effectively.

As nations continue to grapple with the challenges posed by international crime syndicates, such coordinated efforts underscore the necessity for vigilant and collaborative policing.

After a tip-off... otherwise he'd still be here evading his criminal past in Japan.

How stupid is this? They should have known about the warrants for his crimes when he entered the country. Thus arresting him upon arrival to Thailand. The fact is they opened the border and issued visa without stringent check thus permitting this man to continue his criminal activity inside of Thailand.

Yes it would be boarder force and immigration services but they are to busy trafficking illegal immigrants into the country

Oh, my God!

Those Japanese nationals linked to organized crime are finding a safe heaven in Thailand? Thailand has become a refuge for criminals and fugitives from all over the world. What a disgrace for the Kingdom!

No more Visa Free! No more Visa on Arrival! Enough is enough.

Will the real Mr.Miyoshi please stand up?

Thai immigration police/RTP couldn't catch a cold if it weren't for tip-offs.

Finally - an overstayer that is a criminal, which justifies the millions of baht and man hours spent on catching "innocent" OAP's living out the last days of their lives in a decent climate

Watching the developments of the RTP they must think it's safe to blend in over here.

No masked assault rifle armed SWAT team at the briefing?

Thats another Japanese kingpin in the lock-up, maybe the police could sort of arrest a few Thai kingpins, just to even up the numbers of course.

I can't tell if post like this are satire

Excellent work, congratulations to the boys in brown for hunting down this criminal and even give his name in the media.

Thanks to the path blazing endeavours by the authorities, acting on a tip-off, I might suggest to carry on the good work in relation to a very old skeleton in the closet -  the grandson of the Red Bull empire, a certain Mr Vorayuth Yoovidhya. He allegedly killed police officer on duty, Mr Wichian Klanprasert on 3 September 2012, some twelve years ago.

The statute of limitations, apparently, expires in less than three months from now. As the case seems to be pretty clear and  helping officials got moved to "inactive posts by the bus load, the police officer is still dead and the last hurdle of not being able to find Mr Vorayuth Yoovidhya has also been solved. On Youtube there is a clip by AP (Associated Press?) where the culprit was asked in London in front of his residence, if and when he would return to Bangkok to face the music. The only thing by Mr Vorayuth Yoovidhya spoken into the intercom was to "open the door".

So, given the efficiency of hunting down this Japanese wrong-doer it could possibly be, that the Red Bull story might arrive at court, with him in attendance to present his version of the story of the alleged murder. All the other charges like racing with anything between 170-180km/h in Bangkok, loaded with alcohol (post-stress drink, he claims), heroin in his blood (residue of a dental treatment) and lying straight through his teeth to the authorities ...... have meanwhile been wiped off the legal slate and filed away - for good - I hear.

I am sure, that the untouchable adherence to law and order will be upkept in such a way, that this case can be closed as well - prior to the statute of limitations in September this year. The clip, should the police need my help, by AP monologuing with Mr Vorayuth Yoovidhya, can be found here:
