A 43-year-old Thai woman, Papaipit Linse, residing on Upper Market Street, Haverfordwest, is scheduled to appear in court next month on charges of murdering her seven-year-old son, Louis Linse, at their home on January 10th.

At her initial appearance at Swansea Crown Court in February, it was determined that Linse was unfit to enter a plea due to mental health issues.

Her defense lawyer, Dyfed Thomas, referred to a psychiatric evaluation suggesting that her fitness to plead could improve with further assessment. As a result, she was moved to a secure mental health facility for ongoing treatment and observation.

The case returned to court on June 26th, where it was agreed that Linse would face another hearing on July 17th. Court proceedings have been repeatedly postponed to allow for necessary psychiatric assessments.

The incident, which occurred before 10:45 am on January 10th, drew significant attention when emergency services were called to Linse's residence, where they found Louis Linse deceased. This triggered an immediate investigation by Dyfed-Powys Police into the circumstances surrounding the boy's death.

An inquest into Louis Linse's death was initiated by HM Coroner for Pembrokeshire, Paul Bennett, on January 19th but was adjourned pending the police investigation's outcome.

The community of Haverfordwest continues to be deeply affected by this tragic event and awaits further updates as Linse's upcoming court appearance may shed light on her mental condition and the legal proceedings ahead.

And will probably continue... I wonder who's paying the defense lawyer?

Seems there is a lot more to this case, and all very sad and unpleasant.

Her estranged husband is also in a psychiatric facility, from before poor child's death, for attacking her and his own parents.

Tax payers money?

That's the way it usually works, yes.  Nothing new really. Since a defendant has to have legal representation, If they can't afford it then the state has to step in, otherwise there can't be a trial. It's just the cost of justice.

A good guess would be the legal aid scheme, i.e. the government.

Tax payers money?

Yes. That's how the state legal aid scheme works if the accused doesn't have the means to provide their own lawyers.
