Where do you place yourself politically?

Too many political soap box threads now, and it seems like you are either placed left or right? But who feels like being in the middle? Sometimes left, sometimes right, but mostly shake your head and look from right to left and back.

 

Myself thinks there is no more common sense, and everything is being hyped up too far to the right or the left. There is no middle road anymore!

Haven't got a clue what left, right, dem, rep or liberal means any more.  I'm all for less govt involvement in personal home life, business, regulation, redundant taxes.  

 

Totally against foreign aid ... any foreign aid, as long as home country citizens are suffering and theirs a national debt.   How does a govt borrow money to give it away.   No household can, would or get away with that.

 

I don't believe in sending military overseas, especially as a corporate security force, without being compensated, and on a voluntary basis only.

 

Don't know what label gets puts on me.   I believe socialism & a democratic republic can co-exist.  If the govt didn't ruin everything it touched (think USA Soc Sec), then they should be in control of the basics.

 

Make them affordable for all, since 'non profit'.   Education, healthcare, utilities/energy, (oil & electric).

 

But greed & corruption seems to be all that matters, no matter how many lives it destroys or even kills.

 

So I don't think I fit into any label, left, right or in between.  Actually prefer not to be any part of it.  I don't believe there even is a far left or right, or left or right.   There's the controllers, and there's the allowed perception of left & right for idiots to distract themselves and argue about, while getting royal screwed doing so.

 

You got the <1%, (horrid humans) laughing all the way to the bank.  Another <1%, GODsends, knocking there heads against the wall, try to make a better world, for the other 98 ish %, that are total ignorant idiots, so self absorbed with there stupidity, they haven't a clue.

 

Not a fan of humans.  Almost embarrassed to be one.  Can I identify as an Eagle.

I have no idea what it all means and i only know it brings out hatred on both sides.

i'm not.

 

i try to be fair and middle for as much as i can. although i am labelled certain things every day without actually really being asked. i hate most of them (politicians) to be honest and i detailed why the other day. most of them are only out for personal gain. people will chime in with their usual boring attacks etc. its all the same now. monotonous chanting of the same talking points over and over.  however i do thank tug for introducing me to mark kelly. i would vote for that guy if i was american. he should be the ticket. 

 

but that's life isn't it. they just chose politics to live through their vision of what they wanted in life. 

 

i would vote no confidence. i left canada and cared very little for its politics or who was in control. i don't really feel very canadian. my parents were immigrants. i was made aware of that daily by classmates growing up. try having parents from glasgow. it's amazing.

 

i comment on the threads because the entire system is a joke. the threads are a joke. politics is a joke. none of the issues facing us as a collective species are really being tackled. who cares about some sucker in a white building. clearly our system is broken and sweet f all is really being done about it. it's why i can't take most of it seriously anymore. if i even mention global warming i am a denier. say something about biden and i am maga. doubt a certain news story and i am a conspiracy theorist. the list goes on and on. 

 

what are we really doing about the earth climate pollution etc etc. FUKC all really. microsoft and apple together are worth almost 6 trillion dollars. we spend trillions of dollars killing each other for my land and your land and my god and your god.... and congress whines and complains and tears at each other for a few hundred million for programs and all that. f off. 

 

and to top it all off like a cherry on a sundae.......

 

the last 2 months have shown the entire world just how pathetically corrupt the system really is. everyone getting so excited that 10s and 100s of millions are pouring into politics for campaigning and bla bla bla bla bla. now i sound like greta. get off my lawn !!

 

left right hahahaha spare me. the rich keep getting richer and that's about it.

Sadly in today’s USA, the “middle” is found on the right. Thus it is harder for me to deal with the diehards. While acknowledging I am moderately left of center and find others moderately right of center with whom to find common ground in focusing on agreed issues needing to be addressed … far too many current Americans would place me automatically as extreme left when that is patently false. Example, I support a national healthcare program such as found in all other developed democratic, capitalist countries.

Everything that's right and far right in my country is based on socialist values, and would be recond as communist ideas and practice in Us. Still from being green (middle ground) I'm now unfortunate pushed more right because of the left extremes pushing the democratic idea to far beyond the limits. 

 

If we just could agree on equal rights, and not minority trumps the majority idea and values. As well immigration problems. Immigration is good as long there is resources to handle them in an appropriate way, language, schools work etc, but with religious freedom, it is over the top, and to big challenge for a small country who feel the invasion as a step on our values, and we have to adjust, and not them.

 

Well, that's part of it

 

Equality is not practiced, and thats what makes people unhappy.

 

Equality doesn't mean you can say or do what you want, but everyone have equal rights and duties to pull in the same direction and not minority controlled.

The first was immigration, where the left position is insane.....let anyone come in to America. Second is woke where DEI hiring will destroy good companies that provide jobs for people. Woke will destroy America. Third is war. America's proxy war in Ukraine is immoral and flirting with ww3. The Ukrainians cannot win, they will have to invade Russia to do that...should Ukraine not lose totally this year, and manage to invade Russia next, year, do you think Russia would surrender to Ukraine???? You are certifiably insane if you think in this scenario, Russia would not attempt to destroy the west. 3a) War in Israel. The US is enabling a genocide here...totally immoral and totally stupid. Israel is a murderous nation that needs putting down and pushing back to its borders in the 40s. Gazan and West Bank Palestinians need arming with modern defensive weapons to shoot down fighter jets and destroy tanks and Israeli personnel.

Usual divisive issues: abortion, I don't care and I am sick of hearing about it; taxes, I pay mine, start taxing the rich heavily they are parasites, make them pay for the wars they start; religion, I think all religious people are idiots....there is no god in the sky, get over it and make churches pay taxes.

A lot of people actually have much stronger opinions on authoritarian vs libertarian than they do on left vs right. They tend to get lumped together with an assumption that right is authoritarian and left is libertarian, but they are completely independent of each other.
