Thailand is getting more boring

I think Thailand is losing its appeal. Not much fun anymore. Vietnam might be worth a look. Once you get past the cheap shallow stuff not much to enjoy. Pretty much 90% of the farangs I see are low quality.

Please feel free to move on to wherever you want to go.   How much of Thailand do you know? How long did it take you to decide "Thailand is losing its appeal. Not much fun anymore."

Well, I have seen most of it.

OP, it could be you, the next place will probably be the same, in your opinion......🤗

If you confine your life - in ANY country - to the main cities and the tourist centres, then the uniformization of humanity just becomes more and more pronounced over time.

But if you stay away from those hellholes, life continues its variability and its interest in every country in the world.

I agree Thailand gets boring after awhile if nothing constructive to do here. Especially not reached the pension age yet. Im ok with the life in Isaan, and our daily need to do things, as normal as possible can be, and our frequently holidays when we need them or want. But, as said in other threads, the heat and smoke killed my vibe this year.

You were bound to get bored of the touristy beaches and waterfalls after a while

Nothing to do with beaches. Actually the beaches are the highlight. The cities are 95% the same. Same average markets, shopping centres and restaurants. The only differences are traffic, farang numbers and bargirl numbers.

The place is shallow.

I see little difference really. Just lower farang numbers in some places. I went to Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Burilam and Korat. All basically the same. Phanom Rung is more pretty than Ayuthaya but worth 3 hours.

So what's the attraction? Well either you sit on a beach or hire women or ladyboys or you drink.

Have you isolated yourself in Isaan like many expats do? many turn to drink to relieve the boredom

There are several posters on this forum who consistently exhibit a negative and nearly troll-like attitude towards Thailand and Thai's in general.

Their content often echoes each other, sharing a common underlying theme; an inability to recognise that their discontent originates internally, instead opting to blame external factors.

These weak minds lack the creativity to seek out activities beyond the typical tourist trappings and tend to attract others with a similarly negative mindset. It's as if they have created a self-defeating spiral - they then end up on this forum posting rubbish and blaming everyone and everything else for their own misgivings.

That is true for some but I've been to 60 provinces now and it is pretty much 95% the same stuff below the surface. It is a bit like bourbon. Once you have had 40 different bourbons who cares anymore. Much the same.

Well yes I have higher standards than whats on offer. Most cities are the same. The most interesting activity is driving at odd angles down various sois. The cities themselves are just people sitting around eating the same stuff daily.

You'll find that's about the same everywhere you go, same feelings will follow you until you change

Who drinks Bourbon? Thats wannabees Whiskey drinkers liqour, not the real stuff!

But Thailand is what you make it to be, and your interests and lack of resources to  go and find other places, unless an partner holds you back.

Freedom is to settle where you want to settle without thinking of budget. I asked you budget, but you are not willing to answer any personal questions, so?

Just bored and want to stirr up som cow pies?

Nope...  but you could perhaps accept that life is boring for you because life is what you make of it...

So your standards are lower. You are lucky.

Ordinary or not is not the point, it's about some social interaction, you can visibly see an improvement in peoples moods when they interact more
