They were being shot down. Your masters are about to get a swat back from the IDF.

My prediction is that Israel will take out all Iranian AD systems, sit back and say, well, what do you want to do next.

I saw plenty of Iranian missiles hitting Israel (ie, not shot down), they just landed outside populated areas.

Israel will not respond. This particular episode is over. Just Kabuki theater.

The nuke issue is not related to today's show. That's for another day.

Sure it is. You just dont want to talk about your support for a lunatic regime with the ability to turn the middle east into a smoking hole.

Of course, let me anticipate that the antisemites will say, Gee that sounds like Israel. Come out of the closet if you havent already

One to Two weeks they stated in Fox News, so a preemptive strike coming soon,

Oh, forgot that was old news already,

Blinken stated that months ago, but now

Iran has reportedly said this was just a retaliation for the recent assassinations and not intended to provoke a full on war. Had they wished to inflict real damage they could have sent 500 missiles aimed at real targets.

Of course netanyahu will probably go full on terminator and it's all on in the ME.

Iran has reportedly said if israel or the US attacks Iranian facilities they will destroy all the refineries in the area ie Saudi.

That would have a catastrophic effect on the entire world that depends on M E oil.

Read the title of the thread. Of course it's pertinent in the context of a widening conflict.

I guess you want to censor the discussion to your druthers.

Israel takes casualties in it's offensive into Lebanon.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/israel-lebanon-hezbollah-war-ground-operations-as-hamas-war-continues/

Israel's military said Wednesday that eight soldiers had been killed in "intense fighting" with Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon, three days after it launched ground operations in the country.

....................................................

The military said the soldiers were killed in two separate incidents, and that six troops, including an officer, were severely wounded in the same incidents. The IDF did not provide further information on the nature of the deadly incidents.

My point is that Israel will not respond to the missile attack from Iran. At least, not for a while.

The Lebanon stuff will continue.

Yes they did, all the details you need are right here. You seem so happy about it.

Just to put things in perspective for you, Hezbollah.

Hezbollah death toll in past 2 weeks is about 1,300, roughly equal to Hezbollah deaths during entire civil war in Syria.

The focus seems to be on Lebanon but let's not forget what is still happening in Gaza. Yesterday, 77 people(including women and children) killed.

Israeli forces killed at least 77 people across the Gaza Strip on Monday as Hamas promised to wage a “war of attrition” and Palestinians in the enclave marked one year of conflict.

Israel will speak with the USA and other allies and consider an appropriate response , it would have been rather foolish just to randomly fire rockets in the direction of Iran .

It needs to be a considered response with clear objectives

Oh well, he's still alive, there were rumours floating round he may have been killed but not yet.

After speculation he was killed, Sinwar said to renew contact with Qatar

Hamas leader reportedly has not softened stance during absence, is said to be surrounded by at least 20 hostages, carried 25 kg of dynamite in sole footage of him since Oct. 7

Sinwar’s former Shin Bet security service interrogator told The Daily Mail on Monday that the Hamas leader was carrying 25 kilograms (some 55 pounds) of dynamite in footage of him walking through a tunnel days after the October 7 massacre.

You are correct.

Forgetting the politics, for Israel to attack Iran is technically difficult.

One issue (of many) is that Israel will probably use F-35s, and if one is lost over Iran, that would be a strategic loss.

To get there by aircraft they have to pass by or over unfriendly countries, and they will no doubt be waiting for the attack. It would be easiest to eliminate the refueling aircraft as they fly more slowly, and without refueling the attack aircraft will not get back, and no friendly countries to land in.

I assume it'll be by missiles or Iranian interests elsewhere.

If you do not you think Israel should surrender to Hamas, what do you think Netanyahu should do differently?

The Gaza operation wasn't well planned. Even now there are no signs of the indispensable sub division of the zone to establish a durable post war control. IMO the early military operation should have established such tight division into four  to six sub-regions.

I can't disagree with you.

Israel should tread very carefully.

 Dead man walking.

It is not a question of  if he will be unalived, but when. They will find him because  he has enemies within his own people.

What do you mean by post war control?

Do you mean occupation?

They could use some of the stragecially places US Air bases.

Palestinians cannot be trusted live peacefully and not to attack Israel again , strict measures need to be taken to assure that they cannot rearm themselves again

Not occupation, I'd call it joint administration between Tsahal and elected leaders in each subdivision. Higher level decisions for concerning the whole strip made at meetings in Tel Aviv, possibly Jerusalem would "look" better. And IMHO this would have to last for a couple of decades.

That's all from my brain only, of course.

BTW occupation will be needed in Southern Lebanon, again, as Hezbollah have claimed their share of the killing..
