Cant seem to find banking forum.

I use Lazada a reasonable amount and always used Credit Card to pay. Lately I use  QR code scan as going to close CC. I recently purchased an item but due to time to ship I cancelled it. Refund was to my Lazada Wallet which I did not know I had. Made a couple purchases using wallet balance no issues. Just went to purchase another item and wallet short on balance so I tried Top Up. First attempt I needed to link bank account to wallet. It then asked me for my Debit Card number and ATM PIN. No thanks. I exited that and found another way without need to disclose PIN number.

I had the same problem before. You can do this without using your PIN number. Contact the customer service. Give them your bank account number. They may ask you to send proof who you are through email. But they can transfer money from refunds to your bank directly. Takes about 3 days. No need to give PIN number.

I think the site was hi-jacked. I doubt if Lazada would do it. More like someone posing as Lazada.

  • I'm sure Lazada will not ask for your ATM pin, because they would have no use for it.   They may ask for your CVC code, or to create a PIN only usable on Lazada

I always use my cc except for items that are inexpensive.

I use Line wallet, easy to top up, convenient.

I use Line wallet for a few things, I can top up my gf's phone etc.

Since when does an ATM card have a 6 digit PIN?

My Bangkok Bank ATM card has 6 digit for quite awhile.

Even banks don't ask for the PIN. Neither do online merchants.

Where are you living? We aren't talking about a digital pin, but the pin at the ATM terminal. Anyway if you have an 8 digit ATM pin, how would you add that to Lazada which are specifically asking for a SIX digit pin?

I stand by my comment that the clue is in the screenshot, and that Lazada doesn't ask for the PIN you enter at the ATM terminal..

You can link your cc, Should only ask for card number, name, expiry and code on back of card (CVV)

But your original post was about an SCB debit card. Anyway, everyone has explained already to you that this is about a PIN you have to create for your Lazada account, which you understand already, you just want to continue playing dumb.

As for lazada requiring a pin, I have no clue, but i certainly wouldn't enter one.

That is BBL that will want the PIN in order to debit your account to transfer funds from your bank account to the wallet, it is not Lazada wanting your PIN.

Looks .like lazada handed off the verification to bkk bank and it's actually the bank asking for the pin to verify it's you using it.

That is exactly what it is, BBL cannot fund the Wallet without the customer entering the PIN to authorise the transfer,

Making a transfer from your bank app to a third party requires your PIN to be entered!

Not the same problem...he was not trying to get a refund to his wallet or bank account, he was trying to top up his Wallet from his bank account in order to use the Wallet for purchases.

He was not trying to link a card/bank account, he wanted to transfer funds into his Laz Wallet from his bank for purchases.

Who said that they aren't different?   To transfer funds from a bank account app to a Lazada wallet requires the PIN to be entered on the bank's app.

Hence the need for a thread title that said so, instead of suggesting the opposite.

COD only for me thanks.

I have had attempted scams via COD. Plus you need to be home to collect item. Other than this concern never had any problems via pre payment so will stick with that.

Can track delivery so I know what day they are coming, I wouldn't trust it left outside, how do you know it was even left ?

Absolutely. Ordering online since years and never a problem.

Of course I look carefully what kind of shop that is and consider what the amount is.

Over the years repeated purchase at the same stores, no risk anyway (e.g. coffee from Chiang Mai, works exactly anytime).

Here in the village the package either is either handed over at the gate or at the shop down the road (different world from the anonymous cities).

For those who are willing: there should be an option to pick up the package at the courier depot yourself. Don't know how exactly how it works.

Since a while I prefer paying by scanning QR code (direct debit) and no one needs details of my account.

Yep, know what day but not what time. Mine arrive anytime from early morning until 7pm. I get an email from Lazada saying parcel delivered. In over 6 years I have had a few parcels delivered when not home and have never lost any. Just lucky I guess. Each to their own.
