Revisiting History: The Unlikely Campaign to Vilify Winston Churchill
It seems very clear that Churchill prized the British empire above everything. He was willing to die for it, and willing to kill any number of civilians for it, even gas them if necessary. Churchill's early opposition to Nazi Germany no doubt stemmed from his awareness that Germany would be economically and militarily stronger than Britain and that this would endanger the existence of the British Empire as he knew it. -

The One Fatal Issue That Both Parties Consistently Refuse to Address
It SHOULD pop, but IMO they will paper over the cracks and avert a civil war. If they can fudge their way out of the 2007 fiasco, they can fudge their way out of anything. It's notable that they learned nothing from that almost disaster. I wouldn't care, but, given the Great Depression example, America's mistakes get inflicted on everyone else as well. If it does pop, it's going to be really rugged in NZ which is financially embarrassed already, after the last shambles screwed us all. 5 million people and jobs for 3 million. -

It's funny that people would credit Churchill for saving the world from the Nazis, that honour should really go to the millions of Russians who left their blood on the battlefield against the Wehrmacht, unlike Churchill. In reality Churchill and the British played an exceedingly minor role in the actual defeat of the Wehrmacht. It's easy to forgive Churchill's sins if they didn't affect you, but the people in India whose relatives he starved to death, the people in Iraq whose relatives he had killed, and the children, women and old people who were turned into living torches by his strategic bombing campaign might see it differently. -

White Temple Offers Flood Victims Free Vehicle Parking in Chiang Rai
Huge tourist wat. Actually quite nice, as we popped in, and besides us, just a few tourist there. No entrance fee, and no issue parking 'then', free, and some decent food vendors around it, at the time. Drove by couple years later and yikes ... really crowded. -

I'm wondering if any of my fellow white caucasian western farangs are finding themselves in trouble in Chiang Rai, as in having their homes flooded and cars/bikes/other property damaged? My white European farang friend lost everything. He wishes to find some people with similar experience.- 1
