Much like the gays and lesbians supporting Palestine. The Arabs there would throw the gays and lesbians from the tallest buildings in Gaza. Are there tall buildings in Gaza?

There used to be.....not many left now.

Israel protects gays and lesbians. Good on them for not leaving tall buildings so they can run off the top.

How about preserving our culture

That's simply speaking an illusion. Britain got a problem with increasing old age and decreasing number of children. In a couple of years there isn't any "British" workforce enough to fill all vacant jobs.

Evidently we need people/migrants to keep our wealth.

To shut your eyes and hoping the best is crucial.🥺

It would be best if you had skilled immigrants. You don't need baby makers who do nothing else.

Factually incorrect.

Muslims worship Allah who was originally a pagan moon good; the Christian god was never a pagan moon god.  Mohammed repurposed Allah as the sole deity - it was easier for him than making up a new god.

Islam doesn't have Jewish roots.  The Koran is the literal word of Allah.  (It is curious, however, that bits of the Koran seem to be based upon badly remembered parts of Jewish scripture.  It's almost as if Mohammed wanted the Jews to accept him as their prophet which, of course, is why Mohammed, when the Jews of the Banu Qurayza refused to accept him as such, had all the teenage boys and men slaughtered and the women and children taken as slaves and sex slaves.)

It seems you are not so aware of scientific analyses of both religions.

Muhammad was strongly influenced by a Jewish-christian sect.

One of the two gods in the Bible is El. It was a pagan god in the Cananean region.

The church should be protected on a historic registry.

Why. It is just an old unused building, boarded up, shuttered and decaying. The FORMER owner of the building is stopping it being rebuilt and becoming a useful part of the community.

It is not as if they have any interest in it.

Something interesting for you to read.

Some key findings from the Church Statistics1 report are:

UK Church membership has declined from 10.6 million in 1930 to 5.5 Million in 2010, or as a percentage of the population; from about 30% to 11.2%.
By 2013, this had declined further to 5.4 million (10.3%). If current trends continue, membership will fall to 8.4% of the population by 2025.2

In England, membership is forecast to decline to 2.53 million (4.3% of the population) by 2025.

Over the period 2005-2010, the major Christian denominations such as Anglican, Catholic and Presbyterian all saw falls in membership. Orthodox, Pentecostal and other new churches (Evangelical and Charismatic) on the other hand, saw an increase in membership.

Church membership is declining in all four constituent countries of the UK, but in England the decline is relatively small, whereas the biggest decline appears to be in Scotland.

Church Attendance in Britain
Brierley Consultancy have also published statistics for church attendance (as opposed to membership) for the period 1980-2015. Key findings are:

Church attendance has declined from 6,484,300 to 3,081,500 (equivalent to a decline from 11.8% to 5.0% of the population).

England has the lowest percentage of the population attending church in 2015 (4.7%), just below Wales at 4.8%. In Scotland, the equivalent figure is 8.9%

Likely more mosques than churches in England now.  It is in Canada.  Brilliant government officials who take the blame for nothing.

I'm not doubting it seems that way to you but in reality it looks a little different, numbers seem to vary where you look but a quick search shows there's something like 755 Mosques in Canada and 23000 churches.
A pretty similar story in the UK, 2122 Mosques and 38500 Churches
Its probably the same as when I buy a new car. I hardly see any of the model I'm buying until I've got one then everyone and their dog seems to have one

You want churches to be built/remain open for people who don’t go to church?

Racism pure and simple. The UK has always been a racist country.

Would you say the same if Israel converted the Temple Mount into a Synagogue, a new Temple of David in Jerusalem to replace the Al -Aqsa Mosque?

Would you label any one who protested as being racist ?

Don't gaslight. You know it is true. If you don't, you should read more.

I've worked with (and even dated some - fantastic gals) loads of moslems in my rather long life. None of them, none at all resemble your mutant ramblings.

It's a grade 2 listed building that has clearly seen better days and is in need of restoration.

If a charity are prepared to take it on and spend money on it, as the article suggests, why not?

Because of ignorance, bigotry and hatred. There are some seriously deranged posts on this thread.

The charity was granted permission by Stoke-on-Trent City Council on August 15 to turn the church into a mosque.

No doubt another UK council being taken over by the religion of peace...

The Muslims will make it unrecognizable.  Why not make it a McDonalds? Or a fish and chips restaurant?

By your logic, every synagogue should be handed over the Religion of Peace.
