It's rich that for a forum frequented by mostly senior expats, where talk about sex is often the result of lost paradise nostalgia or wishful thinking, to cite active sex life as a inducement to good night sleep. My recently eutered male dog gets fat and sleeps soundly than ever before since his operation.

There may be some differences between dogs and humans.

And, maybe, not all AN members want to be neutered

I prefer working night shift ,11pm to 7am

Sleep during day but my work is shift worker

So if I can't swap it's one week day one week afternoon

This is unhealthy,  there is lots of research about it.

I've discovered a nano sleep recently during the day, literally sleep for seconds or minutes then get up and feel refreshed, if i sleep daytime for a length of time like an hour+ i feel groggy for the rest of the day

Sounds like you've conditioned yourself, it's going to take some time to get into 'an early sleep routine'.

A good way to recondition your sleeping habit would be, early to bed, have sex and sleep.

It works for me. 😎

Okay! Good to know. Now I know why I always sleep so good.

If you are ageing or don't have a sexual partner, this Australian podcast will help you.

Seriously funny Wellbeing, podcast number 9, topic is sleeping.

I think the OP is quite elderly yes  ?      maybe he needs an in house helper / carer  or relocate to a hospice facility.   You can get all the support you need and new friends at those places.

I am having a lot of health problems working shift work

This year alone I have been tested for heart attacks  ,brain aneurysm, liver cancer ,bowel cancer , ultrasound of stomach ,Prostate tests  and now I have chronic fatigue Syndrome and I think my pancreas might be high

I have changed doctors 3 times because of their incompetence and failure to take my concerns seriously

I don't see psychiatric treatment. 😂

Sorry mate, only joking 🥳
