I suggest that you avoid high season; and Treetown - that is the same for motorbikes (especially with all food carts/vendors parked down the centre).

Pattaya is booming.

Whilst "booming" is a bit of an exaggeration is was noticeably busier on Friday night (and Saturday based on the OP).

Well of course.  You are in the middle of one of the most popular bar/entertainment areas in Asia.

Get out of there and many bars and restaurants are empty, closed down, or for sale.

Pattaya is very crowded now no doubt.  But, there are way too many bars to support large numbers.

I was walking through the "indian middle eastern" area last night and very crowded, all going berserk shouting , revving motorbikes up , bumping into you ,no situational awareness

secondly please ban the motorbikes driving through,it's a pedestrian area ,very annoying having bikes bip their horn from behind

Thai's and many others reckon they are not "road users but pedestrians on wheels", and banning them wouldn't make any difference anyway, all you've got to do is look at one-way only streets, it doesn't seem to apply to motorbikes (nor some cars either).

I saw on Facebook a soi 6 bar for sale for 20m+ wasn't long ago they'd struggle to get the standard 1m baht. That's where they seem to make the money on selling the business rather than Beers

Was in a beer bar on Soi Skaw Beach run by a friend of my better half a couple of weeks ago. We were there for 2 hours on a Wednesday night and were the only customers in that time from 10pm. The English owner was essentially overseeing his money draining away.

I just hope they are very busy at weekends and during high season or it will be a matter of time before they close and/or sell up.

No doubt others are similarly situated.

" Who said the bars were not doing good "

No-one that I know, it's business as usual for a Saturday night,  nothing changes. Walk by any Aussie bar this afternoon and you'll be staggered how busy they are, boom times.

Walked  to Soi Bukhao last night.

Very busy

The Billabong bar was so packed with people you couldn't even get in the door, and there's no door anyway but that's besides the point,

and why would I want to anyway

I really can't see the point of going into a very crowded bar and stand there ,drinking ,what's the point rubbing shoulders

Who said the bars were not doing good ,every bar had customers but some bars were packed out ,billabong ,I rovers etc

I could not  walk through the streets there without bumping into people and secondly please ban the motorbikes driving through,it's a pedestrian area ,very annoying having bikes bip their horn from behind

Walking through those crowds gave me anxiety

Picture holding yesterday's Bangkok Post or it didn't happen.
