Be warned about Lazada's new silly rule

I am just wondering when the culture changed from one of acknowledging one's own mistakes, and moving on, to blaming someone else for problems caused by one's own stupidity.

I'm at the point of no longer investing in new disks, as they fail I don't replace them and I've binned some of the stuff that doesn't interest me.  I won't lose anything with the next 2 disk failures but after that, I'll have to prioritise what I really want.

I do have Netflix too, but there's a lot of good stuff on Hulu and Apple/Apple+

If you have Netflix you'll be happy to hear Google TV allows you to search and watch Netflix using voice commands. For example, OK Google play Aliens, will play the movie right away.

So, don't order before you did your research.

Don't make a post before you have read the posts where is explained why this happened

Coming from the guy who started topics like this

I don't think it is just the promotion thing but also the 'fullfilled by Lazada' that keeps you from being able to cancel an item.

Not everthing sold on Lazada is 'fullfilled by Lazada'.

But yes it is getting harder to cancel orders on Lazada.  Lots of sellers automatically put the packed label on the order as soon as they receive it which also keeps you from being able to cancel the order.  Even though it obvious on some orders that they never actually packed it yet, let alone shipped it.

I placed an order on Lazada, and just minutes later I found the same item cheaper elsewhere. So since it only a few minutes had passed and the order obviously hadn't been processed yet, I decided to cancel.

Strange enough, the cancel tab was greyed out.

I clicked on the cancellation policy link, and that clearly said that if the order isn't packed yet, which is the case, it can be cancelled.

So I decided to contact support, and then I got this, which actually means no orders at all can be cancelled anymore, because with every order a promotion of some kind is applied, even if it is only 1 baht discount.

I also spoke with support, and in their email response they made clear they were unwilling to cancel the UNPACKED order, which leaves me the only option which is to reject the delivery.

All fine and well, but of course rejection of COD orders will be noted on your profile, and they may remove the COD option for you in the future because of this.

I hadn't ordered anything from Lazada for over 8 months because of their silly rules and policies, and switched to Shopee because they are not only cheaper on most products I'm interested in, but they are also easier to deal with.

Result is that I now also will reject the other 3 others I placed with this seller, and which are shipped already, and Lazada now definitely will see the backside of me.

Good luck with them forcing themselves on customers.

I cancelled a order on Lazada 2 days ago without any problem whatsoever because I realised after placing the order I had ordered the wrong size.

My cancellation was accepted and confirmed without incident.

I have since decided not to re order the item I cancelled.

I have a 75" TV to be delivered in a day or two that I will reject because I found it 3,000 baht cheaper without the "free" soundbar that I don't want.

Maybe a little more shopping around before the order is placed. Once an order is placed, the decision has been made. This refusal will work once, but likely the COD option is gone for you 'in a day or two'.

I rejected the "free" soundbar today that came with it, the TV will come today

Sorry to tell you but you cannot reject parcel you have to accept it and then click refund. You can only reject a delivery if it hasn't been paid if it's cash on delivery. That's why it's always advisable to pay with a credit card.

In the post directly above yours, I already rejected one delivery.

Using bar lingo the expression 'cheap Charlie' comes mind.

In my case the saving was 3,897 baht.  That's not being cheap, that's significant.

For Cash on Delivery new law came in from 3rd October 2024

Rights and duties of consumers

1. Open the
product. The right to open and view the product according to the announcement of the Contract Committee in front of the delivery staff, along with recording evidence in the form of photographs, videos, or others by physical inspection, such as type, color, size, and quantity. If the product does not match the order or is damaged or defective, or the product was not ordered but was delivered, the consumer has the right to refuse to accept the product and not pay.

2. Rights to return products and request a refund.
The right to notify the business operator to return products and request a refund within 5 days from the date of payment and receipt of the product. If the product does not match the order or the product is damaged or defective, or the product was not ordered but was delivered, with recorded evidence in the form of photos, videos, or other means, if it is true, the consumer will receive the full amount of the product within 15 days from the date of notification of the dispute.

3. Rejecting all products
In the case that the ordered products are more than 1 piece per parcel, if it appears that the product does not match the order or the product is damaged or defective, the consumer must refuse to accept or notify the return of all products, including free gifts, and return them to the business operator.

4. If you are not satisfied with the product, you cannot return it.
You cannot refuse to accept the product or request a refund due to dissatisfaction with the product.

Shopee is not better, soon or later you'll experience the same.

It was for me the reason to finish with Shopee.

Can anyone tell me why Lazada increases the shipping price by double once you try to place your order.

Yes, depending of your deliver address.

but wait...who's fault is it... you found it and clicked ORDER instead of adding it and browsing to see if you find cheaper...

a silly option of a penalty fee for cancelling for stupidity would be great to avoid such things

So the supplier has to lose because of your incompetence.

Wonder inf the OP feels the same when buying a TV in Banana, but then finds out its cheaper in Powerbuy?

I find Shopee ok,   it's cheaper than Lazada and less hassle.   I've ordered many things and got free delivery.   I'll stay with Shopee,  I'm not concerned about and discount vouchers ....

I wonder which part of Lazada's own terms and conditions you don't agree with

image.png.67f7183af233ab33124412a4ba98802b.png

My first order was the cheapest I could find in extensive searching.

Here is my order clearly showing 30 days free returns. They didn’t tell me or possibly I didn’t notice that it came with a free sound bar, which I don’t want.

Only after paying did Lazada’s shyte search engine offer me another seller for almost 4,000 baht less.

The whole thing could have been avoided with a search engine fit for purpose.

you said in the OP that you saw it cheaper somewhere else, so look better before you commit to buying. then you don't have to blame others.

These are not new rules! Obviously you are one of those optimists who ignores the small print in the terms and conditions. Don't blame Lazada for that.:coffee1:

Sorry Frits, next time I'll ask your permission

I cancelled an order yesterday, seller would not answer my query(self delivery) on it plus had not updated the notification for 3 days so was still showing to be packed, went straight through and was showing refund being processed within a very short time, was surprized it happened so fast.

Can I ask the model number?

I’ve ordered the 75T7B

I noticed one seller selling for B23K no soundbar but no option for delivery by seller own fleet

for delicate items I prefer using seller own fleet
