The discovery was made along Jomtien Beach on the morning of October 30, leaving local residents and authorities puzzled. Around 09:45 Pattaya police received a report of a deceased man’s body found washed ashore at Dongtan Beach, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.

Police Lieutenant Sanan Khotanont, Deputy Inspector of Pattaya City Police (Dongtan Sub-branch), arrived at the scene along with his investigative team and local rescue personnel from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation. The body was later identified as Sarawut Mahachan, 29, who was fully dressed. Authorities found an injury on his head, but no other visible wounds. Cash was also found in his pockets, and that was secured as evidence.

Rachan Piandi, a 60-year-old local resident, reported he was fishing for squid on the beach when he spotted the body drifting towards the shore. “I was looking for squid and enjoying the view as the weather was quite nice this morning. Then, I noticed the body floating beneath the water surface and washed onto the shore,” Rachan recounted, stating he quickly stopped fishing and called for others to help while notifying authorities.

Lt. Sanan and his team documented the scene, though the exact cause of death remains unknown. The head injury raises questions, and further examination is needed to determine the actual cause of death. The body will undergo an autopsy to provide more insights into this incident.
