Colonoscopy price in Bkk?

Featured Replies

Had before in the UK with polyps removed, last time 15 years ago. As family history of colon cancer and some concerning symptoms thought it might be time to have another so contacted a nearby hospital Nakornthon, this was their price

Colonoscopy and removal of polyps the estimated price starting at 60,000 THB (including doctor fees) The procedure will take around 1.30 hrs

Seems like a very high price to me, is there anywhere more like 30k all in?

Bumrungrad in Bangkok are considered expensive and they currently offer a package at 26,000 baht.  However, I'm sure the cost increases if they need to remove any polyps.

I used them about 5 years ago it was all done very efficiently, although luckily I didn't have any polyps.

So, 60,000 seems high.

Krung Thep area, I would expect 12k & up pricing.

Private hospitals run 25 - 38 K. This does not include polyp removal & biopsy. @proton quote you received is unprecedented, I can only guess they were assuming removal of a very large number of polyps...or did not know what they were talking about.

Given your family history of colon cancer, personal history of polyps, long gap since last colonoscopy  and that you are now symptomatic it would be worth having this done by a really good colo-rectal specialist as the skill of the person behind the scope matters.

Suggest this doctor:

Same doctor, different hospitals. Normally BCH would be less expensive but given that Bumrungrad is running a special price now, it might actually cost less.

Had quote of 26.600 baht from Bumrungrad but these are the extras I had to ask about, the package includes the drs fee but not these other charges, so it seems the true cost could be more like 70k with the Pathology, biopsy and polypectomy being up to 40k, seems a lot.

This amount is exclusive of consultation fees and preceding endoscopy, biopsy, pathology test and home medication and PPE Set 500 THB.

 – For Pathology, biopsy and polypectomy, exclude from estimate price that not over 40,000 THB.

 – For Pathology and biopsy equipment (tiny polyp) 1 container 3,750 THB.

I had a colonoscopy at Chulalongkorn in May through their specialist clinic.  The doctor was. Bumrungrad doc.  All in, including 8 polyps removed & biopsy was about 26,000
