johng Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Also it should be up to the individual to decide if they want to take a very "safe and effective" medicine like ivermectin and refuse other concoctions that have not been time tested for safety. 1

Apparently it is the same with the lawyers that work for him on his multiple civil and criminal cases. I would have loved to have fluoride in my tap water when I was young. My teeth have paid for the Mercedes of at least one dentist. As for ivermectin, it is effective against intestinal parasites. There is no proof it is an effective prophylactic against COVID, apart from non-peer reviewed "studies" by social media quacks. All these were in decline before due to better public health measures... sewage managment , washing hands after toilet and before eating/preparation of food refrigeration etc. The beaches were closed because of what people did there. The public consumption of alcohol and drugs, the rowdy behaviour by youth and yobs, and close contacts were the problem. Because people refused to behave responsibly and insisted on engaging in high risk behaviour, public health authorities were obliged to temporarily restrict public gatherings. People could still go outside to get their exercise and vitamin D. You are mistaken. Ivermectin was promoted as a cure all before there were any clinical trials. Its promotion defied commonsense and was based upon data that was often falsified or manipulated. (This has been repeatedly proven.) Covid 19 is an inflammatory illness caused by a virus. Ivermectin has been around for years and its mechanism of action was well documented. This mechanism has no known impact on viruses. The worst aspect of the Ivermectin nonsense is that it delayed the rollout of known low cost anti inflamatories because the promotion of the ineffective ivermectin eroded confidence in health research and medications. For reference sake; Ivermectin binds selectively and with high affinity to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate muscle and nerve cells of the microfilaria. This binding causes an increase in the permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions and results in hyperpolarization of the cell, leading to paralysis and death of the parasite. Ivermectin also is believed to act as an agonist of the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), thereby disrupting GABA-mediated central nervous system (CNS) neurosynaptic transmission. Ivermectin may also impair normal intrauterine development of O. volvulus microfilariae and may inhibit their release from the uteri of gravid female worms. Much of the evidence for ivermectin in COVID-19 relied on pre-print in vitro data, and the clinical utility of the data was not proven. Due to a number of factors - for example, the relatively low number of patients per trial and the speed at which these trials were conducted - studies on the use of ivermectin in COVID-19 were characterized by statistical errors and accusations of plagiarism. In addition, the use of aggregate patient data in large-scale meta-analyses (as opposed to individual patient data (IPD)) was shown to disguise otherwise blatant data errors, such as extreme terminal digit bias and the duplication of blocks of patient records. Ivermectin was an illustration of what happens when unqualified people with financial self interests promote untried and untsted potions. The continued support of the ineffective Ivermectin demonstrates the refusal of the magical conspiracy promoters to consider actual scientific facts. they just can't accept that they are wrong and that their actions resulted in deaths. 1 1 1

Peer-reviewed and well ranked scientific publications are controlled by whoever can be conveniently blamed for it, but crappy YT videos banned in this forum tell the truth! 😀 This is industry funding for countries health regulators. Light says the problem with drug regulators is widespread. Even the FDA—the most well funded regulator—reports 65% of its funding for the evaluation of drugs comes from industry user fees (table 1),9 and over the years user fees have expanded to generic drugs, biosimilars, and medical devices. “It’s the opposite of having a trustworthy organisation independently and rigorously assessing medicines. They’re not rigorous, they’re not independent, they are selective, and they withhold data. Doctors and patients must appreciate how deeply and extensively drug regulators can’t be trusted so long as they are captured by industry funding.” https://www.bmj.com/content/377/bmj.o1538 Sponsorship bias in clinical research Abstract Background: Pharmaceutical companies fund the vast majority of the clinical research that is undertaken on medications but face a conflict of interest between producing good science and results that will enhance the sales of their products. Objectives: To document concrete examples of bias in clinical research induced by pharmaceutical industry sponsorship. Methods: This paper uses a thematic approach to documenting the extent of these biases in the following areas: research question/topic, choice of doses and comparator agents, control over trial design and changes in protocols, early termination of clinical trials, reporting to regulatory authorities, reinterpretation of data, restrictions on publication rights, use of fake journals, journal supplements and symposia, ghostwriting, publication and reporting of results and outcomes. Results: Bias in favour of industry is apparent in every one of the themes examined with the result that research funded by industry undermines confidence in medical knowledge. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23135338/ 2
