Reach down. No surprises. 20 year old Thai Boys/Ladyboys give better service than 40 year old Thai ladies. Same procedures available at lower cost. Less "afterward" problems usually.

The now defunct bob smith would tell you that it's the best thing that could ever happen to you in Thailand. In fact, he used to say that three a year doesn't make you queer!

This is important information, it should be researched before taking home. 

 

Over the many years I've noticed a couple mates of mine take a ladyboy back to their room after I have told them it's a LB. The next morning they make up a story like, OMFG she was a LB, I kicked her out. 

These guys wanted to try, I reckon most times if you take one home you know.

Post op accounts for less than 20% I think. 
 

I think for many guys, though, once the beer goggles are strapped on, the ability to tell the difference probably drops about 50%

I think many pretend not to know. Once an old American guy at my gym flicked through some photographs of girls he hired for massage services. They were all very pretty but I had to stop him and let him know that one was a ladyboy … he managed to fake surprise!

It probably doesn't happen too much in Thailand though where the locals aren't particularly known for their magnitude in this category.
 

In fact, Thailand is ranked 81 out of 87 countries, thus ranked quite low, along with practically all the other SE Asian countries.

You see that's what I don't get. A man wants a relationship with a LB - full meat and two veg (and pleads not gay) and then stumps up to turn the he into a surgically made she , and then stay with the 'woman'. Not exactly personal experiences but ...

 

Long, long ago, a group of us who were working in KL went up to Phuket for a mucky long-weekend. As we were crawling out of soi Crocodile having picked up rentals in the Star Bar we saw an American gentleman who, it would seem, had copped a feel as his date was climbing into a tuk-tuk. He was heatedly complaining that there was more there than he'd expected. Our own tuk-tuk whizzed off back to the hotel before we saw the actual outcome.

There was a well-known and actually quite convincing "person of the not-quite-female persuasion" who our new chap was chatting up.

Of course, those in the know were encouraging him! "Corr, she's a bit of alright; you're in there!"

After a while they both left, separately of course.

About 20 minutes later the phone in the bar rang, it was for our boss (who was the ringleader of course).

Later, I was working in Bengaluru, India. Nobody, even with the beer-goggles installed, could mistake an Indian eunuch, as they are known, for an actual woman. It's a bloke in a saree, complete with 6 o'clock shadow, adams apple and "husky" voice.
